This is extremely well made vinyl, however the caveat is not only the blade that is purchased in the kit with the spray soap, etc. is not strong enough to cut the vinyl for corrective measures when in need to size while on the window. No cutter that I have used cuts evenly including sharp exacto knives, sharp box cutters and sharp shaving blades. They vinyl tears while trying to run any blade for precise fitting. I had to throw everything in the garbage. When they were applied even though needed sizing they looked very nice IF the soap bubbles would disappear(followed instructions of LIGHT SPRAY). I replaced my sidelight sheers with this and it looks Amazing! Super easy to install. Clean window. Measure twice cut one spray water on window so vinyl will adhere. Smooth out the air bubbles.. done. Took me 20 mins to do both sides.

I don't do may home projects and don't have much experience with DYI projects, but I did an ok job putting this cover on the window of a door. This static cling covering is a reasonably priced and easier alternative to hanging blinds or a roller shade. I strongly suggest reading the instructions and watching the instructional videos online. If you do that and put some thought into how you're going to put up these coverings, it should be easy. I misread the instructions for the first panel which is why the corner didn't come out well. I did it correctly for the other panels and those corners are fine. For me, the corners and cutting it to the exact edge were the hardest parts. From afar, it looks good but up close the corners on the first panel are messed up. It blocks almost all the view so you get privacy protection but you still get sunlight coming in. The disadvantage with shades is that they have to be open to get sunlight so you lose the privacy. This window covering still gave the room a good amount of sunlight with privacy protection. ... show more

I was tired of people coming to the door and peering through my plain glass sidelight to see inside my house. I felt like I was living in a bubble. I thought about having an etched glass product to be installed, but it was pricey. I tried a product similar to this one and, although it gave me the privacy I desired, it ended up looking more like an ugly thick shower curtain was stuck to the window and filtered out most of the light. The outside of the window looked like a blotchy opaque mess. I decided to try this product As I liked the frosted lattice look and I read on other reviews that even the cross hatching of the pattern was not see through. My posted picture of the inside look of the new product appears dark, but I think it is because there is so much light coming through the sidelight now. The picture I posted of the outside shows the pattern appears on both sides of the glass. I did not buy the application kit as a quick on-line search showed a small amount of baby shampoo mixed with a lot of water in a spray bottle would suffice. Since my sidelight is narrow, I used a credit card instead of a squeegee to push the fluid & bubbles out. The only thing you need to consider with this pattern is that you might want to put one diamond in the center of the sidelight for aesthetic reasons. ... show more

This stuff looks so awesome in the window, but it is nearly impossible to get it on correctly without bubbles and get it straight and all of that. Even getting the backing off of it is an enormous pain. Why they did not put a grid on the backing so that you could cut it straight is beyond me, but they might want to take a hint from contact paper. So from cutting it straight to peeling it and then installing it, expect to spend easily over an hour per window! ... show more

Converted a laundry room into a bathroom and kept the existing non-privacy window. Had planned on replacing the window pane with frosted glass when I came across this product online. Bought it and installed it easily and it looks and works great. Way cheaper and easier than replacing the pane. Pros: Cheap and easy. Took less than 30 minutes to do and really can't be messed up. I'm a home re-modeler so am picky and for the price and effort this was a great purchase. Cons: Wasn't aware the "special" solution needed to install the film was sold separately as a kit with a knife and also a plastic wedge for removing bubbles. Got online and discovered a similar solution can be made simply by mixing some baby shampoo with water in a spray bottle - which is what we did. Any sharp knife will work to trim the edges and for the bubbles we just used a credit card. ... show more
