  • Works very well to reject heat
Size: 3ft x 15ft
I've used these on a few windows in my house along with the windows on my garage door to reject heat and improve privacy. This film does have a silver reflective color - so you need to make sure that part goes with whatever house decor you have. The film works very well to reduced the heat load. While putting this on the windows (which I recommend doing when the sun isn't shining right through them) you could feel the heat difference once the film was in place. Installation is what it is. It's not difficult, but it's not super easy. The instructions are very clear. You just have to follow them. You will make a bit of a mess with the water/soap mixture as it gets most things pretty wet. Have some towels to dry that up. A super sharp knife is a must. It takes a few days for the water behind the film to evaporate and the view through the film is crystal clear. This is something that you can do DIY, but you have to be patient while doing it. A bad film job (i.e., bubbles) is worse than no film at least visually. Once it's up, it rejects a lot of heat and protects things from UV fading. ... show more

  • Excellent. Application kit is not as good
Size: 3ft x 15ft
Excellent to reflect heat and give privacy. I used the separate kit to spray and apply. Fell down 3x. Probably the application fluid. Works great for heat and privacy.

  • Lower Bills, Cooler Rooms, Zero Regrets
The Gila Heat Control Titanium Window Film is one of those upgrades you do not fully appreciate until you see the electric bill drop. I put these on the sun facing windows and the temperature difference was obvious within a day. My AC is no longer crying for mercy, and the rooms stay cooler without turning the place into a cave. There is also a "privacy" improvement - you can't see inside during the day. Installation is DIY friendly if you take your time, and once it is up, it looks clean and professional. The heat reduction is real, the glare drops, and the house feels noticeably more comfortable. Easily one of the best small home improvements I have made. Five stars. ... show more

  • More like Gilligan from Gilligan's Island
Size: 3ft x 15ft
As others have said the instructions come rolled up inside the rolls of plastic and the problem with that is the quality of the plastic is not very good. It will easily get a permanent crinkle if it is creased slightly when unrolling it to take out the instructions. My plastic sheet did not have an adhesive backing I checked but I still used it because a return was more of a hassle than working around this limitation. I used gorilla tape to tape it around the window since I am not the home owner and the window already looks awful. I wouldn't recommend this product because there are plenty of other plastics sheets that are cheaper and block light. I expected more from the quality of this company that's why I was willing to pay 50 dollars for this sheet of plastic but it fell short. ... show more

  • Works Great
I would not say this is super "easy" to install but it's definitely doable. It would have been easier with two people and that was for a smaller 36"x22" window in my camper trailer. The smaller windows were very easy. I used this stuff on my last RV too and there the windows were 48" across. I screwed up on the first try because once it creases, forget about it. I should have gone to the University of YouTube and seen how the "pros" do it first but I just winged it in typical redneck fashion and it went up very nicely the second try. Still, you must have patience because getting the edges to tack down takes repetition. Also, when you squeegee the sprayed fluid from the center to the edges, you'll benefit from using a paper towel to soak that fluid up or else it will keep wicking back underneath the screen and forming bubbles. As for heat reflection. WOW! You'll notice the difference immediately. Oh and I would not do it when the sun is on that window or your fluid will dry up too fast. Wait until there's shade on that side then do it. I think I'm going to do my automobile windows next! ... show more

  • Really cuts down incoming heat!
Size: 3ft x 15ft
Wanted to apply a tint to my home/office window to reduce UV and heat transmission during the day (live in sunny SW USA). Never installed a window tint, but it looked like something I might be able to do myself (for just one set of windows). Gila got decent reviews and price was reasonable. Also ordered a tint application kit (mainly squeegees and stuff to help squeeze out bubbles) - probably a must. Make yourself the spray solution of dilute baby shampoo. Plenty of videos out there to help with window prep and install - these are pretty essential to knowing what to expect and what to do. Install during the day will help with visualizing water/air bubbles and squeezing them out. I installed in the evening, and it got dark out for the second window install. Harder to see the tint. A second pair of hands is pretty essential too. I had a 9 year old pair help for the first window which went well. Thought I could try myself for the second window, and ended up folding the tint onto itself and getting some permanent creases into the tint... learn from my mistake and keep a second pair around (even a 9 yo pair of hands is indispensable for beginners)! ALSO: make sure your utility knife is SHARP! I used the same blade for both windows, and it started to get dull on the second window, tearing the tint in some places rather than cutting clean. This was very frustrating. In the end, was a successful install. Most bubbles were squeezed out, and what tiny residual bubbles that were left dried out over the next few days as well. Tint is clear and feels suitably thick and durable to my inexperienced eyes and fingers. Very noticeable reduction in heat, which I am super happy with. My main minor quibble would be that there's a pretty noticeable blue tint. Gila is apparently widely available at big box home improvement stores, so if this is a concern, you should take a look at it yourself to see if you like it. I did not and this is a minor regret. TLDR: VERY noticeable reduction in heat transmission! Nice clear tint after successful install, but with a noticeable blue tint. Watch videos. Make sure your windows are CLEAN before install. Install during day if you can. Get a second pair of hands to help also. Change blades often. ... show more

  • Great Heat blocking
Size: 3ft x 15ft
This film really does reduce the heat coming in through the windows, especially in the hot summer. It does add a slight color to the windows and reduces the amount of light coming in, but not enough to interfere with enjoying the daylight! Easy to cut and install once you get the hang if it. Practice on a smaller window first! Also, during the day, from the outside the windows will look like mirrors so people can't see in, which is great for privacy! At night, though, when the light is coming from inside the house, it reverses and anyone outside can see in! Just something to be aware of! ... show more

  • Works but a nightmare to install!
Size: 3ft x 15ft
The product works well from the perspective of reflecting light and glare and reducing heat entering windows and doors, but it's a nightmare to install. The cutting tool in the kit that you can buy lasts one window cut around and then it's too dull to cut and ends up tearing the film. I ended up having to use a box cutter knife with a new blade for each window not to tear the corners cutting it. All of the corners and edges have to be scraped clean of any paint, water spots, grime, etc...or the film will not stick and it will curl up around the edges and the corners. One has to be extremely careful removing the clear plastic backing from the film that goes on the window or the film will curl and fold on itself and wrinkle and have creases that show when you put it up. It seems like the manufacturer used the lowest quality and minimum adhesive it could...if you touch the corners of the film while putting it up, no matter how well you wash your hands, it affects the adhesive and it will come loose in the corner that you touched. I installed this on 10 windows in my house along the west and south and it really does cut down on the heat transfer but it's painful getting it up! I watched many videos on this product from the other customers and it seems we all had the same problems. I have two more doors to do and I've decided to try a different brand/product to see if it's any easier. ... show more
