Ordered two sets of these to start to build out my home gym. I like the grip-handled, rubber-coated weights I was using at the Y so went with these. Reasonable price. Arrived in one box per set and the second you opened them WOW smoky rubber ashtray smell. Washed them in hot water with dawn soap, rinsed with white vinegar, then sat outside for two weeks before they could be brought in. Now about six months later they're fine...you can smell them a little when it's humid out and when you put them up near your face. Functionally perfect, accurate weight. ... show more

Nice feel, look, while easy to maneuver or handle. Better than expected. The only negative is the distinct odor coming off the plastic. I’m not sure if it was an oil-based protective coating. I had to leave them outside for two days to air out. They seem to be OK now!

I think these work great! I use these frequently in my home gym. They are easy to hold and move because of the grip and space compared to traditional weights. It’s fits great in my Olympic barbell with the 2” opening too.
