Date of review: 12/18/2021 Usage: 1 day When looking for a new laptop, I needed something with higher end specs but wouldn't empty my checking account. I largely needed a laptop that could run a virtual machine or two for my work, and some light gaming. The RTX 3050 ti is one of the lower end cards of the 3000 series RTX cards, slightly better than a RTX 2060. So far, the performance of this PC has been excellent, 144 HZ is a really nice refresh rate, and you'll notice a difference from using 60 HZ. The only game I've tested is Vice City Definitive Edition and had no problems. The keyboard takes a bit getting used to and you'll accidently hit the num lock several times. The material of the laptop itself tends to show fingerprints, which I'd recommend washing hands before use or frequent cleaning. If you're looking for a lower/mid gaming laptop and want to spend 1000 ish dollars, then I'd highly recommend this laptop. ... show more

Exceed my expectation (5 Stars). Note: I am quite particular and skeptical. The beginning: I can decide windows 10/11 during setup. OKAY not bad. Windows 10 chosen! After setup finished, I installed dota 2 and ran it at Ultra setting for videos. Hmm 144ghz ...looks good. Tested zoom meeting through video and microphone using laptop with my company. Okay not bad... Battery life is about 2 - 3 hours for my normal usage. Able to customize the colors of the keyboard LED button.     • Just don’t if you want Windows 11
This would be a terrific gaming laptop if it could upgrade to Windows 11. Who needs a brand new, already dated computer? Sure, you usually have to upgrade new laptops, etc. but, and this is important, you can. Not this one. Customer support is abysmal and I was notified rep couldn’t help me because he’s working from home. I was advised to return it. Not a problem…I don’t want it anymore. Such a shame since I had thought this was a good choice. I don’t recommend it. ... show more

    • Loud beeping
Like Wilson Chan's review below, I had this for about a year and a half before an extremely loud beeping alarm would randomly come on. It is inconsistent when it comes on (while it's running). It's apparently supposed to be related to overheating, but the fan is running and the components are not hot when the alarm is happening. The best suggestion I found on Reddit suggested opening up the laptop and unplugging and plugging back in the CPU fan, but two of the screw-holes on the back of this laptop are filled in with plastic (and appear to be just riveted in on the inside), making it basically impossible to open up. I am not sending this in for a replacement motherboard or CPU fan for who knows how much money--this is supposed to be my dual work/gaming laptop and I can't afford to be without it for an indeterminate amount of time. So I'm going to do what I can and see if I can manage to squeeze my hand in the barely opened clamshell to unplug and plug back in the CPU fan... EDIT: It was a huge pain, but I was able to open the laptop (requires breaking a couple pieces of plastic and/or glue), and unplug and plug back in the fans from the motherboard. That solved the beeping issue and made the fans not run at full power all the time. The fact that this process is such a huge pain and others have had this issue means I still would not recommend this laptop ... show more

Had this laptop since Oct 2021 still runs great with no problems. I can run baulders gate 3, diablo 4 with no issues. I would recommend getting a external SSD drive if you are a gamer

    • Regret to buy Gigabyte Laptop
It lasts only one and half year and then the laptop beeps loudly all the time until I shut down it. Gigabyte support charges me over 1000 usd to replace the mainboard and cpu fan to solve the problem. It is cheaper to buy a new one.
