Of course that leads to some difficulties, such as reaching some of the connectors and screws. Also, the 2nd M2. nvme connector is on the back side, and is covered by a backplate/heatsink. Any sloppy moves while aligning that thing to be screwed back on can cause the protective / heat conductive film to be mangled. The final result is a very nice well-performing system. The onboard intel i225-V ethernet chip works fine @ 2.5GHz under Freebsd 13.1. Didn't try the WIFI. The provided wifi depends on the board revision. See the Gigabyte manual. One problem was the Amazon fulfillment: they first sent me a board that had been opened and fiddled with. So watch out. I returned it without trying it. The 2nd one was fine. ... show more

Needed an ITX motherboard for a 10" cube case I designed and chose this MB. Have tested it in Linux and Windows 10, both worked flawlessly. BIOS is decent and easy enough to navigate but I wish Gigabyte offered a couple other features but no big deal. Was surprised to see the actual ARGB lighting on the side of the MB which was fun. This is a review with the bios updated to F12 sept 2024, no other updates released as of March 2025. No EZ-debug lights(but rgb yes?), can''t run ram above 3400mhz when the same ram was running 4266 cl16 with the same cpu on the MSI equivalent B760i. I've tried 5 other kits and no luck, blue screens or black screen until cmos reset*. Bios is terrible, laggy, some sections are unresponsive until you click 15 times. There are settings that freeze the bios and the motherboard has no cmos reset button. You'll have to short the pins after opening your case and moving any cables/hardware that may be in the way. *Reseting the cmos will also delete any of your bios profiles so there's no point to even having the option to save one. MSI, EVGA, ASUS, does not delete you profiles and gets you back into the bios to change settings. That's the point of a cmos reset, not act like you reflashed the bios and start from square one. I'll leave it at that, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Won't purchase Gigabyte ever again. ... show more

I gave it 4⭐s because I refuse to use gigabyte control center app software in my opinion is bad. I may purchase a rgb hub later on. Motherboard functions great with a 12600KF and RX 6750 XT.

    • Some Design Flaws

My first issue is with the front M.2 SSD cover. There's a large metal cover that interferes with the cooler I wanted to install. I was sure it so big in order to accommodate 2 SSDs, but It turns out this large cover is purely decorative. My second issue is with the back metal shield/cover. It also covers the rear SSD, so you have to remove it to install the SSD (it's just a few screws). Once you put it back on top of the SSD, it presses down too hard, causing the SSD to bend. I don't understand how they managed to design it this way, given that all SSD heights are standard. Overall, NVMe SSDs do not need cooling at all. So, these shields and cooling fins are pretty useless, making the situation even more frustrating. ... show more

    • Suddenly Stopped Working After About 2 Weeks

I had this motherboard freeze up once after about a week of use, but I was able to get it to start again by power-cycling. Yesterday it failed again in the same way, but never came back. When I turn on the power, the HDMI display registers a device but the BIOS splash screen never comes up. The Gigabyte support page isn't working when I try to login using Google credentials on Firefox from Ubuntu. I just get a blank screen. I'm getting impatient with brand new stuff that doesn't work and I don't have a lot of patience to troubleshoot just getting access to their support page. The FAQs don't help. Yes, I'm sure it plugged in. Yes, I turned it off and on again. They need to have some better debugging interfaces on the motherboard, like a serial port or an LED display or something. Maybe have an LED that cycles through colors as the BIOS makes it past start-up stages. I understand that space is limited on ITX boards, but it's really frustrating for it to just work or not with no other information on what state it's in. I'm returning this motherboard because I don't know what else to do. ... show more

This is an okay motherboard if you don't mind a terrible BIOS. Gigabyte obviously puts their money into useless fancy nonsense rather than proper function. I'd gladly trade fancy graphics for a BIOS that works well but Gigabyte seems to prefer nonsense.
