  • When you need a little upgrade
Size: B650M AORUS ELITE AX Style: B650M AORUS ELITE AX
Compatibility: I bought this for my PC upgrade last year and it hasn't failed me. It's been amazing and had all the ports I could have ever wanted and it even has a Wi-Fi adapter if I need it. A great little motherboard didn't have any failure with it wasn't dead unrival like my previous one. Overall I'm very happy with the company and the quality ... show more

  • Solid board, happy with purchase! - FYI GPU slot sits high
Size: B650M AORUS ELITE AX Style: B650M AORUS ELITE AX
Bought this board to replace the MSI one I bought and failed after six hours of usage. This board does not have all the connections the MSI board had, which is nice for me as it was my first PC build... made it easier to find to my connections without being overwhelmed with all the options on the MSI board. FYI the GPU slot sits quite high on this board, if you have a large GPU (I am running a Sapphire 7800x) it is almost touching the CPU cooler. But not enough to cause issues. I suspect if you're running a water cooler, this would not be an issue. Another plus with this set up is the GPU does not crush the cable connections on the bottom of the board (the MSI board I had DID crush the lower board connections due to how low it sat). Another FYI: The software load-on process can take FOREVER (I have 1G internet and it still took awhile, I think its Gig's servers though). I'll update as time goes on! ... show more

  • I've changed my mind on this board.
Size: B650M AORUS ELITE AX Style: B650M AORUS ELITE AX
I'm not just reviewing this board all Gigabyte motherboards in general. I've had 6 different Gigabyte boards from a Z390 on a 9700k to this board I just bought last week. I've myself never had a serious problem with any board from Gigabyte before. The worst problem I've seen was forced to use PCIE 3.0 on the videocard that used 4.0 on a board that had 4.0, that was fixed later on in a BIOS update. Other than that they've been stable, higher than usual amp ratings even on there lower tier boards Elites, Pro's. Better than normal thermals, never had to worry about thermal throttling even when over clocking. Just great all around. And, I can't say this about any other brand. ASUS nothing but trouble I've had three of there boards none lasted over a year if it worked at all. MSI is 50/50 with 2 of there boards I've used. The only other brand I'll recommend but still don't have the same confidence, is ASRock been really surprised with them lately. Packed with features, and been good but only had two different boards with them. So gigabyte has my vote when it comes to motherboards hands down. Hope this helps your purchase. ############. New thoughts on this board Ya I've changed my mind about this board. I've given everything I could to make it act right. It just does not.... I'm relatively good at figuring out what's what. What's causing whatever issue I may be having. I know how to test the boards I buy. I've always been able to figure out what's going on and fixing it and never have another issue with said board until it just it's time to die maybe years later usually. But this board hasn't been right since I purchased it. It's never acted right, BIOS issues RAM issues. I even bought a code reader just so I knew it was unfixable. Even though I already suspected it was. I've tried 4 different PSU, 3 different DDR5 RAM sets. All supported by this board. Hell I even tried a set for Intel no difference. It's never been able to qflash correctly, trust me I've tried every slot and made sure I got the right build for this board. And I've used qflash before I know how it works. I've tried onboard graphics and 4 different GPUs. I just wanted to be sure it was this board. It maybe worked for 2 months and this was very light use... But it never restarted right, it would always hang up. Then finally it just loops. Will never boot up. And yes I've tried every trick in the book. Even stuff I've seen on different msg boards just to be thorough. And like I said the code reader. It tells me everything is great as it restarts over and over. So I've given up. I would not suggest this board. The money you save isn't Worth it. Like I'm said gigabyte has never done me wrong but this board is just wrong. It's the worst thing I've had to put up with since I bought it. Stay away IMO. Any other gigabyte board might be ok just not this one. And no I don't go around making bad post on everything I buy. Actually this is probably the one time I've made a neg post on Amazon. That just should tell you how much this piece has bothered me. ... show more

  • Wish I'd bought this Motherboard first.
Size: B650M AORUS ELITE AX Style: B650M AORUS ELITE AX
PROS: Clean look, lots of IO, two M.2 expansions, first bay GPU slot, plenty of headers on the board. All from a reputable manufacturer. CONS: limited audio output, but if you're not an audiophile then this is fine. If you are into 5.1 audio, the PCIe x4 slot will allow for a sound card provided the GPU doesn't exceed three bay slots in height. ... show more

  • Many features for the price, but eh
Size: B650M AORUS ELITE AX Style: B650M AORUS ELITE AX
This board is packed with features, and even has wifi which is nice so I can test connections when needed. The board seems well-built. The m.2 quick latches should become standard on all boards, they are nice! Having that extra pcie slot on an M board is also a great nice-to-have. Sometimes there is a red light that just stays on sometimes, it's some bios reset option I assume, but it's a tad annoying, but also it's not on right now so heh. I'm not a big fan of rgb but this does it nicely. My biggest gripes are the software and updating the bios. The software at first seems really nice, it checked for new drivers, and allowed me to download them all at once, however, they packaged Norton with it (though you can uncheck that box it was still offputting and I didn't see it until it was almost too late) and updated by firmware but not to the latest firmware. When I tried doing a manual bios update myself I ran into some frustrating issues of the bios updater not being able to read the file, I had to click on the file instead of hit next even though it was the only file, otherwise it would keep saying file not found. But, after that issue was resolved by clicking, it then said invalid image file. I still haven't been able to update my bios, and my version doesn't fix the voltage issue with the 7800x3d, so that's a bit concerning. The documentation from Gigabyte was not any help at all. For the price, this board is unmatched. I even saw it have some solid recommendations from some techs on youtube after I bought it. Everything works great, though I wish it had better onboard audio, a way to change the color of that red led on the bios button, better documentation, and not throwing unneeded or bad (norton) software in the list of driver downloads. ... show more
