  • stable at reasonable oc
Model name: B550
I bought one of these and sent it back, the reset switch did not work. The ps2 port doesn't work on this board, but I can live with that. Hope it doesn't mean something else will fail later. Put a 5700x in it and running 16 threads at 4.4 gigs with temps between 60 and 65f. I run distributed computing and all threads run at 100% for hours and hours. Installation has the usual problems but there was nothing major. This one is a 1.4 revision. This board has screws for m2 mounting and not the plastic securing devices. The bios is relatively easy to navigate and has many overclocking settings. Buying, shipping was through Amazon and painless. The return of the first was easy as well. Check the specs for the rest. Easy buy, easy install and running like a charm, what can I say. Minus one star for the ps2 port. ... show more

  • 4/5 Stars for the motherboard but…
Model name: B550
The motherboard is 4/5 stars and is a good entry level board. Watch some reviews, the board can run hotter than other boards. BUT… Amazon sold me an open box as a new product. It was missing the manual and drivers CD. The protective motherboard sleeve had been removed and put back on. Be careful when you buy electronics from Amazon. I returned the motherboard for this reason. ... show more

  • One of the Worst Out the Box Experiences with a Motherboard
Model name: B550 UD AC
TLDR - you need to disable CSM and make sure fTPM is enabled to install windows 11 If you have issue with mouse/keybaord glitching - disable processor C-state in bios - bios update did not fix the usb problem. So I had to get a good motherboard for cheap. Basically an emergency situation. Prime was best option. This ain't it. If it wasn't for the fact I needed my computer working i would have boxed this up and got another brand. Because I got it working, I'll accept my savings and keep this thing. But i cannot recommend this motherboard for a beginner building a pc for the first time. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone honestly. (about me) - I'm an IT professional and I have been working on various states of consumer and some enterprise hardware for the better half of 15 years. This is my first motherboard that gave me loads of teething issues right out the box. Granted windows 11 is a pain to install from the get go but this was the first piece of modern hardware that just made it more annoying than it should be. And here is where things get fun. Even advanced mode, some of the functions are nested in a way that make things more tedious than it should be. Enabling secure boot was one of those. Windows 11 would not install because CSM was enabled.... and then when you disable it, you then see secure boot options. It's clear once you know what the error you are getting exactly..after some research... It was wasn't clear the way things were laid out. That took 1 hour to figure out why i couldn't install win11 by...installing windows 10 and running the readiness check to see what i was missing. Maybe its a flaw on windows for not telling the user why windows 11 installer failed during the initial process booting from the install media......(just a general we can't install on your system message) -- Just when I got clear of all that, i was getting crazy usb keyboard and mouse stutters. a WIRED keyboard required 1-2 key presses to register an input...and WIRED mouse had the same issue where you would moving the cursor and it stuttered. You have to go BACK into the bios and disable C-states and then usb 2.0 ports work normal again... this i have never seen in ANY motherboard I have opened or installed where a power state affects the USB pors causing issues.... during troubleshooting prior to this i rolled up to the latest version of the bios and that certainly didn't change this. I don't plan to overclock or do any crazy heavy gaming, but if i wasn't just determined to figure this out, this would have been a return. So please for the sake of sanity, don't buy this thing. Please spend your money on something else. I got it to work for me but with a level of difficulty I would not expect the average user to work through. Period. ... show more

  • Functional motherboard.
Model name: B550 UD AC
My motherboard kinda killed itself unexpectedly and I bought this as a replacement. I cannot tell a difference performance-wise. I use it for some higher end gaming with an RTX 3070 so you know this motherboard works.

  • Very nice upgrade from the A320 motherboard that I had prior
Model name: B550
Pros: ATX Motherboard Had plenty of fan headers including 3 pin and 4 pin ARGB headers Really nice chunky VRM heat sinks Built in I/O shield Overall just a great board Cons: I gave it 4 stars because while it did come in the original box, upon receiving the item, there wasn't any additional packaging which you would think since it's a motherboard being shipped and the possibility of damage during shipping, wasn't a very bright idea. Would have been nice to have a little more extra security like an additional box and bubble wrap in the box covering the motherboard in its original packaging. The Gigabyte software is not too bad, but not the best I've seen either. Overall: Really great motherboard for the price. The description said in acceptable condition which meant there would be cosmetic damage of 1" or more. I have to say, there was no cosmetic damage on this board at all. I paired it with the Ryzen 5 5500, MSI RX 6500 XT, PNY 3200 mhz 16 gb ram, 2 SSD drives, and 2 HDD drives. It works beautifully, and is also nice to have the Smart Fan 5 so that you can get warnings while playing if your CPU goes over a certain degree of your choice. Can't quite get Secure Boot to work, and would really hate to have to wipe my SSD that has Windows on it in order to turn on Secure Boot. With CSM Support enabled, I always have to use the F12 to get into Boot setup in order to get into Windows. Otherwise it will go to a black screen and tell me to insert a bootable drive. But spamming the F12 button doesn't bother me. The upgrade from MATX to ATX is nice, along with the ARGB headers. Very satisfied with this product and would recommend to anybody! ... show more

  • Very stable

This board has been running about a year and rock solid and stable. I don't overclock so can't comment on that.

  • Very tough motherboard
Model name: B550
The media could not be loaded. I like that it’s a tank lol. I had to take it out of the case multiple time to mod the case for extra fans. It boots like a charm every time.
