  • Great basic board for a PC build
Don't expect flashing lights and dancing girls, but with six SATA ports and USB 3.1 onboard, this is a nice base for a system. The onboard video is currently supporting two 24" monitors, and I will eventually get around to trying the third output to see if three is supported "out of the box". It works flawlessly with Linux Mint 20, and there are plenty of case fan plugs to make sure your system stays cool. With four dimm sockets, I have 48GB of RAM installed and I never have to make it struggle. The onboard M2 socket is convenient, and allows for up to seven drives (unless one of the SATA ports is disabled from use of the M2 slot — I haven't experimented with that many yet). The onboard Gigabit ethernet works great. There are fancier boards that cost a lot more money, many of which only support a couple of DIMMs or a couple of drives (perhaps because they're focused on blinkin' lights). For my needs, this was a very affordable board that made a good foundation for my system. =========================== Edit: The board is still working great, but I did discover one flaw that will likely be common in this form factor: when a nice video card is installed (in my case a GTX 1650) it covers one of the other PCI-E slots, leaving only one for expansion. Also worth noting, that one slot is right against one of the fans of the graphics card. If it wasn't a very low profile WiFi/Bluetooth card, I would worry about the airflow. Bottom line on that, my next build may be a full size tower just to be able to upgrade more things on the board. It's not that the onboard sound isn't good — it is — but if I wanted, for example, 5.1 or 7.1 sound, I would probably have to go the USB route. ... show more

  • Great for budget to mid-range systems.
This board has worked perfectly for a long time. I originally bought this because it was very cheap, and had good features. This board has many features boards of this price normally don't have. For the price, I would not expect 6 SATA ports, and one NVME port, but this little board has just that! there are other things as well, like TPM connections, RGB headers, a parallel port header, serial, USB 2.0 and 3.0, etc. The bios is also surprisingly good for the price. cheap boards usually have a bad bios, but this bios utility is surprisingly good. This board is currently being used in a NAS, because I trust it to be able to work 24/7 without issues. It has been going for about 3 months without any sudden power downs or other problems. One thing to note, is this board may boot-loop if you hold power to turn off the system, and instantly turn it back on. You may have to press the reset button on your case to fix that. Overall, I would recommend this for anyone who wants a reliable budget board for their system. ... show more

  • Very impressive LITTLE Motherboard!
Installation went very smooth and the board performs well! I do not do a lot of gaming, well, none actually, but it cooks for all other tasks including video editing. It does have a very small footprint which is smaller then most microATX motherboards. The depth of the board from rear panel connector edge is about 1.5 inches shorter and about 3/4 inch narrower in width. From Gigabyte website: Micro ATX Form Factor; 22.6cm x 20.5cm (‪8.89"‬ x 8.07") Oh, this is a very big thing, it does support GEN 9 processors right out of the box. The BIOS version is F5! The last motherboard I tried (different manufacturer) said it supported GEN 9 but it did not have updated BIOS! I do suggest you download the manual before starting since they only have a very brief guide with none of the connectors ID'd. All-in-all, this is a very impressive LITTLE board! ... show more

  • Great Budget mATX Motherboard
This board has great a price to performance ratio. It has a lot of the niceties of a more expensive board like 4 DIMM slots for RAM and an m.2 slot, something a lot of cheap mATX boards lack. I purchased this for a buddy's budget setup. It was very easy to build with, the quality of the board seems pretty good. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat for a budget mATX setup. ... show more

  • IT WAS HELL IN THE BEGINNING, NOW IT'S LOVELY
took a little over a week to arrive, but i got it preowned from the amazon warehouse so sometimes thats to be expected. I was upgrading from a very old AMD chipset so I was very happy to finally have a halfway functional pc. I had set it up with my new cpu, but it refused to turn on. The gpu fan would spin about 1/10 of a full rotation then the pc would shut down. Frustrated because I knew all my connections were correct, I brought it to a local PC shop just to have them confirm my suspicion that I received a faulty motherboard. After telling me the motherboard was defective, I brought it home and began putting my old PC back together to use in the meantime. Same issue occurred, however. Eventually I came to the conclusion that my old PSU got burned out within seconds of using this motherboard, although I had calculated the new power intake required by my upgrade. After testing the board one final time with the new power supply, suddenly magic happened! it booted on, and brought me to a strange BIOS screen I had never seen before. With a little more effort, I got this bad boy to start working. Now that you have my backstory, here's a FORMAL review. -Has a RGB LED strip built into the board (not sure if it was advertised and i didnt read far enough into it, but it was a pleasant surprise) -Front panel connectors are labeled on the board (rather than needing to look through the whole manual) -Very straightforward BIOS -Great sound card built into the board, way less interference than my last board -Layout makes cable management very simple Great board, very happy I made the purchase. Not sure if I'm the only one that has had this PSU issue happen, but I would recommend having a backup handy just in case! ... show more
