Packaging was great and items took a little longer than expected to arrive but that was not a big concern. Many of the previous customers have said they are easy to scratch so you should be careful. The blue plate surface is fine and can take all sorts of fork, spoon, and knife stabs while the bottom black underside of the bowls and plates seem to be a little more fragile. I have no scratches on mine since I use shelving to stack the plates on their own shelf. Being a bachelor, this is a perfect dinner set because you can have a professional modern look to your dinner set whenever company is over and you don't have to eat off of those paper plates anymore! -Blue with Black finish looks amazing. -All glass feels very heavy and compact, the only exception is the larger plate seems a little more fragile. -The cups are great for coffee or tee. -The bowls are nice and deep, perfect for soup or cereal so your spoon won't suddenly slide into your food. Absolutely love this dish set. The coloring looks great even thoigh there is some variation to the coloring in each piece and each piece looks slightly different but they still look great. They are definetly not thin or easily breakable. They are heavier but not to heavy. Very large in size you can fit a little bit of everything for a thanksgiving meal on one plate!!! I have now had 2 sets of these for over 2 1/2 years and have only managed to break one plate and that was only because i accidently knocked our HEAVY glass salt and pepper grinder out of the cupboard 3 ft down directly on the outer part of the plate. The plate did not shatter into glass dust or small pieces, only had 3 large pieces to pick up and throw away. There is no signs of wear and tear or chips on these dishes and like i said ive had tbem for 2 1/2 years and we eat 2-3 meals at hone daily. Very good quality. ... show more

I had been watching this product for several weeks and decided to buy not only one set, but two. The color is prettier than the picture, though color close enough. What was a surprise was the dinner plates are larger (but not overly - bigger than some plates) and that was great too as there is plenty of room to cut a piece of meat, for instance, without it falling off the edge. The reason I gave a 1 star for weight is a negative, rather, because this product is heavy - not light. Overall, every thing about this purchase met or exceeded certain criteria and I love it. The shipping was fast, too, and with holidays coming, this is a great way to start the season. My BFF saw my set in blue and she is ordering the red. She couldn't believe what she saw ... show more

July 2022: It's been years. I still have every single piece in use from the set exempting a couple small chips that were my fault. I am not gentle. They have been microwaved, through countless dish washing machine cycle, hand scrubbing, left outside in all sorts of weather and they look exactly the same as the day I bought them (minus a couple of self-induced chips). My review holds up four years later and I continue to highly recommend. I was looking for a dinnerware set for six. I spent a considerable amount of time browsing all over. Buying two sets of these was less expensive than anything comparable in design. Out of the box they look fantastic. The color is spot on and the black finish is stylish and discrete. They feel solid and have a comfortable weight. They look much more expensive than they are. I have only had them for a few days but they all went through the dish washer and hand washing with no damage. They do get hot in the microwave but for me this is not an issue. Honestly I can't see faulting this dinnerware at this price. If you paid a few hundred dollars and they didn't meet expectations in quality then I can see the complaint if you get a chip or they get hot in the microwave. A serving set of four is thirty-five dollars! They are outstanding at twice the price. They look better than sets I looked at many times the price.Even if you're not on a budget I recommend this dinnerware set. If they disintegrate en masse after a few weeks or months I'll update this review. ... show more

don’t drop it, obviously, would not make it if not placed carefully, anywhere, cute ! very nicely sized, very well designed came in a good packaging, kinda heavy box so if gifting to someone who can’t lift heavy things keep it in mind. i got it for myself as my first kitchen set, i think it’s great for the price, but if you just want dinnerware that’s in this material you could find them mismatched for maybe less at other stores. came really fast too! ... show more

Good for apartment/student living. Can't really comment on durability and ease of washing in dishwasher (don't have one) since I've only had it for a few weeks. Does it's job in microwave - seems to not heat up too much so that the food actually gets warm. Haven't noticed any scratches after using knife as one person I think wrote a review on before I purchased, but I have super dull knives anyways. I'm happy with them to say the least. Good colors (got the blue surface/black bottom) and nice style. Easy to wash the cups. ... show more
