We placed these in the dishwasher when we received them and only one bowl had a small chip on it afterwards. I would say these are great starter sets. These were also on sale for a little under $20 I believe so these were a great deal. Color is just as described and nothing arrived broken. I ordered two sets. This is a neat dinnerware set, contemporary in design that we bought for our son when he moved to off campus housing. He loves it. The bowls particularly are a good size for noodles, Mac & cheese, soups.

I liked the shape of the plates and the cups. The color is not a bright white. Have some weakness in my hands so I was looking for a lighter weight. The dishes however are stylish.
