I was waiting to review until after using these a few times. 1 month in here are my thoughts: 1) Shipping issues, which I expected after reading reviews. I ordered 3 sets and lost 3 full size plates, everything else was fine. The company just sent me a 4th set and everything came in perfect. Now I have extra bowls and small plates for when they do eventually chip or break. 2) So far everything is holding up in the microwave, I do eventually expect things to break as time goes on, thus my purchase of extra dishes. In the dishwasher the dishes load really nice and come out clean and perfect every time. 3) I have already chipped one plate, from hitting a bowl on the edge of a large plate. Only the plate chipped and is washing and still usable. Again I prepared for dish loss, it happens over time with use. Overall I am super happy with the hand painted and glazed look. These remind me of hand crafted pottery and I love the imperfections in the paint style for that reason. If you are looking for perfectly matching dishes stick to a single color. If you want something that is affordable with a hand crafted look these are for you. ... show more

These dishes are heavy stoneware and I like them. They are what I was looking for. I have ordered four sets. Things you should know. They spot, doesn't bother me. They take longer than two days to receive. I have ordered twice, they take three to four days to arrive and one order had to be sent back, the box was an open box order that was a mix of different dishes and none were the ones that were ordered. ... show more

These are beautiful! Color is very similar to what is shown online (dark taupe color with some lighter graige areas) we did not like the look of them with our shiny silverware but with black or matte antique silver they look great. They are not stoneware but the base that makes it look like they are is actually painted. Maybe I missed that in the description but I am overall very happy with these. I like the vibe of these matte black dishes a lot. One of the pieces was broken inside and they sent me a whole other box to make up for it which was very much appreciated. The only thing is, they get scratched very, very easily in a way that really shows up against the black color. I've had them for a while and they're pretty scratched up now despite trying to be extra careful with them and not cutting food on them at all. A spoon sliding on them, fork picking up food pieces, or even stacking them in the cabinet is enough to scratch them. They are pretty thick though, are easy to wash (I don't have a dishwasher and wash by hand) and dry pretty fast! ... show more
