I do love this set of dinnerware, but do have a word of caution if you plan on purchasing multiple sets. If you want multiple sets, you really should order them all at once. I first ordered 2 sets of service for 4 place settings of the “Gibson Elite Green Lantern Service for 4 (16 Piece) Double Bowl Dinnerware Set, Teal, Soft Gray, Dinnerware Set”. The first 2 sets arrived together very well packed in boxes with lovely color graphics on the boxes. I liked the dishes so much that I wanted to buy an extra set of 4 place settings, so I would have 12 of each in case some broke in the future. This third box came packed very well packed in a plain cardboard box, no color pictures, just information stamped on the box. It seemed that the third set was made in a different factory. The color of the bottom of the dinnerware of the third set is a lighter color (dark green) and the bottom of the first 2 sets is almost black. See photo of them stacked in the dishwasher for comparison. The color of tops of the dinnerware from all 3 sets are the same. I didn’t bother sending them back the third set because they are basically for backup. The dishes are very well packed for shipping (we live in a rural area, bumpy dirt roads, so I was impressed that no dishes arrived broken). Also, depending on your dishwasher, the dishes do take up more room in the dishwasher, but I’m okay with that. We’ve been using them for a month and no cut marks so far. As other people mentioned, they do get hot in the microwave, but that’s not un-manageable and food does look beautiful on them. ... show more

I bought 3 sets (12 place settings). The color of the tops of the plates and bowls is very close, but some of the bottoms look pretty different. They look pretty rustic, almost handmade, so the variations don't bother me too much but buyer beware.

I bought these dishes over a year ago. I use them every day and they look like the day I bought them. No chips, no markings, no problems in the dishwasher. I have also found that they do better than most dishes in the microwave.
