I searched around Amazon and local stores for a while before choosing this bed. It seemed to have good reviews on quality, so I pulled the trigger on the espresso twin over twin. It was packed about like any other DIY assembly furniture. The instructions were clear. It probably took me around an hour and a half or so to assemble. I used a drill as a driver torqued all the way down to speed things up. I expected to need to go buy new thicker slats or at least more of the slats, but I feel like there’s enough already for my kids bed - time will tell. I’m not crazy about the fact that all of the screw heads are exposed on all sides, but it seems pretty solid. My wife was able to stand on the ladder without it trying to tip. I considered using the attached anchors to attach it to the wall, but my kids are light and I’d rather be able to move it around easily. The box it comes in is very heavy, I couldn’t even move it on my own without dragging it. You will need a second person when it comes to placing the top bunk on the bottom one, but it’s light and my wife was able to lift it easily. In the pictures we have a 6” mattress on the top and a 12” mattress on the bottom. Biggest complaint is that even if I had a 6” on the bottom there still wouldn’t be enough room for an adult to sit up straight on the bed. Overall this is a bit shorter than I anticipated. Its good for avoiding ceiling fans, but I really would have liked another 6-8” of height between the beds. Over all I can’t complain. Bought this bed as an upgrade from my daughters’ toddler bed and crib. Bed is really easy to assemble with two people! I got the first half of the bed done and was excited to almost finish and when I started the top bunk portion one of the pieces was the wrong piece so I will have to wait to add the top bunk. I gave three stars for the missing piece I have went through Amazon to request new piece but I will update my review once I get the missing piece and the top bunk done! Would also like to add that the bed feels so much bigger in real life than I remember a twin bed being. Edit: I did get my replacement piece fairly quickly after contacting the seller. I finished building the bed today and my daughters love it. It is a bit wobbly but seems sturdy enough ... show more

*update* The seller got back to me as soon as the weekend was over and the rest of my bed came today!! I love it! I bought it for my 3 boys in which 2 of them are not quite old enough to have a top bunk so we choose the separated option for the time being and it works perfectly!! I have not put the twin mattress on yet but I will be doing that soon. I am currently giving a 3 star review until I am able to get in contact with the seller. I purchased the full over full with trundle. It came almost a week earlier than it said but I only received box 1 and not the 2nd that has the headboards, footboard, and slates for the bunk bed portion with a couple other parts. I have contacted the seller after looking at the FedEx tracker and seeing it said I was only ever shipped 1 box. Once that is all settled I will more than likely change my review to a 5. I love the color so far it seems sturdy but how can I really tell since all I have are the side rails. And the instructions are easy to follow. Yes I put what I had together and I really hate to have to take apart to return if we can't get my issue resolved. ... show more

Clear instructions. All parts included. One person assembly is possible, but it would go faster with two. I assembled in about 4 hours. Very sturdy, solid wood. Would buy again.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. 1) Product uses extremely cheap material. See chipped wood, defects, rotten wood, poor paint finish in photos. 2) You save money initially on the purchase. However, it takes twice as long to assemble, not to mention added frustration. You spend time bending metal, hammering wood into place, etc. If you value your time, avoid. 3) Even after following all directions to the T, assembly is not well thought out. See bolts that are sticking out. 4) Trundle is unusable! Wheels roll in only one direction so for the trundle to fit underneath the bed, it has to be lined up perfectly. The lack of lateral and diagonal movement makes this extremely frustrating. Most importantly the corners are sharp. For children getting in and out of bed, this is a safety hazard. ... show more

The bunkbed is very wobbly. It moves every time my grandkids get on it or move around on it. It had a crack in one of the slats that hold the mattress. The only thing I like was the bunkbed fit in my 7 feet ceiling to floor space.

I got the bunkbed for my 3 grandchildren, very convenient since my youngest of the 3 does not always sleep in the bedroom with the others, all we have to do is slide the trundle bed back under the bottom bunk until she needs it again.
