I've been curious about hot brushes for years, but never bought one because I read too many horror stories about tangled, burned hair and saw too many complaints that they were ineffective. I decided to take a risk on the ghd brush because it was on sale for Prime Day, and because I love my ghd flat iron. This brush is a life-changer. I have thick, fine, curly hair that goes frizzy with almost no effort. I used to have to choose between spending an hour with hot tools trying to get my hair smooth and shiny versus looking like a frizzy mess but not spending hours on my hair. Now, I can let my hair air-dry and then go over it with this hot brush, and it gets to perfectly presentable in ten minutes. You won't mistake the results for a perfect blow-out (particularly, for me, my ends never get fully smooth unless I'm pressing them between two hot pieces of metal), but it's my weekday go-to, and I don't turn to my flat iron unless I have an event. A couple of notes: (a) if your hair isn't already detangled, it will get snagged. I brush thoroughly before using it; (b) I would be a little freaked out about using it on completely wet hair, and would recommend getting your hair 90% dry before using it; and (c) yes, it's heavy, but it feels sturdy and my ghd flat iron has lasted for, like, seven years, so I'll take some weight in exchange for quality. ... show more

I’ve never been one to use a flat iron so I’ve opted for keratin treatments 2-3 times a year. But I still needed something for smoothing frizzy neckline hair or straightening out wrinkles. I picked the GHD Glide because it leaves a shine on the hair and it doesn’t make your hair completely flat and shapeless. This is easy to control and the fact that it has only one temperature means I can’t over do it and fry my hair. Needless to say, I am loving this tool. I think I will even be able to use less keratin treatments in the future. For reference I have thick coarse hair. It’s not wavy or curly in the pretty way, it’s more frizzy and unruly. But with this tool it’s sleek smooth and straight with a nice bend at the end. ... show more

I have baby fine 2B/3A hair cut to chin length and this brush works like magic on my hair. I usually blow dry with a round brush and get great results but I wasn't happy with that for 2 reasons: 1. I feel like doing that every time I wash my hair is too harsh and 2. I have to immediately dry my hair after washing in order to have it obey. With this brush, I air dry my hair and only use the brush if the curls don't look very good or if I decide I want a straight look. I never liked the look a flat iron gave me--it made my hair too flat, whereas this gives it a little bit of volume. It is so easy to use and so quick that I may never blow dry again! ... show more

I normally go to a salon for a relaxer, but due to the pandemic, I had to find an alternative. For years I had used a straightening comb, but just couldn’t get over my fear of burning myself (instilled by my mother, who always nicked me with hot tools in my youth). I have to admit I was skeptical about how good straightening brush could be but after researching online articles and reviews, I decided to buy this GHD. WOW!!! The results are better than I expected! My kinky hair is almost completely straight; much better than the results I got with my old straightening comb because I can get the brush on my roots! No burned scalp, fingers or ears! There are less expensive brushes out there but I believe you get what you pay for. This is a very well-made product. Will this replace the salon? No. Will this replace my straightening comb? Absolutely! All you curly girls, if you’re in the same boat as me, I highly recommend this comb for easy straightening at home. ... show more

Oh, the time this gorgeous gadget saves me! Wish I had bought it years ago. I used to spend an eternity carefully blow drying my long, thick, frizzy, curly-ish hair. I dreaded washing it because it took so long standing there, even with a good $ blow dryer. Now, I can let my hair dry however I want—favorite is with the Jeep open and the wind blowing through it. Then, when it’s all frizzed out and mostly dry, I brush out the tangles with a regular detangling brush and run this heated brush through and my hair looks amazing! When it’s hot and humid (Florida, ugh!), I put some anti-frizz serum in my damp hair for extra staying power. Even the cheap stuff in the greenish pump bottle leaves my hair “sleek and shiny” until I wash it again. I read someone complain that there is just one heat setting and it does not get as hot as some brushes. I honestly can’t imagine wanting it hotter for fear I would seriously damage my hair. It's not really better than the $50 and $60 brushes. The plastic piece broke off. I expect more for the price and not for it to come apart plus the heating features are lower temp than the other brushes, etc.

I desperately wanted to like this and hoped it would save me time drying and the flat-ironing my hair. Nope. It is way too big to do a good job with straightening shorter hair. It also weighs a ton, pulled my hair and has only one scorchingly hot setting. This isn't for drying hair, per se, which I knew but hoped to be able to air dry my hair and then style with this brush, All in all, I can see how it might work for long hair but definitely not for me. It seems well made but I don't know if it that justifies the 5-10 times the price of other hot brushes. ... show more
