My cousin talked me into buying one of these. Shes a hairdresser. Its an understatement to say she is a master of her trade. When she curls my hair with this iron, it genuinely comes out incredible. Beautiful, voluminous curls that last for days. She doesn't even use hairspray, just texture spray. When used right, this curling iron really gives you unique curls. I bought one for myself and honestly, if I had no idea what this iron was really capable of, I would say this is an overpriced POS. Its not- but I genuinely can't get the hang of it. I tried. The curls wont hold longer than 5 minutes. Couldn't figure out the right technique. Couldn't stop burning myself. I tried a few youtube videos. I think ill just stick with my $40 wand that burns the crap out of my hair. I look forward to the next time my cousin curls my hair with this iron, but I am all set with using it on my own. ... show more

My hair will hold a curl for days until I wash it again (super thick and non oily). However, this iron does not hold the curl for even a few hours. I liked the feel of it and the fact that it heats up quick. Also the barrel is not very long so if you have long, thick hair like me then it doesn’t all fit. Have to do smaller sections which takes twice as long. I gave it a good try but ended up getting something much cheaper that works great. Not worth the $. Love this iron that can be used as a straightener! It quickly heats up. Hold for 3 seconds and release for curls that stay for days. It doesn’t damage my hair as much as my other curling irons.

I love this curling iron because the temperature is not too hot. I have fine, wavy hair and is exactly what I was looking for. The curling iron glides beautifully and is light weight. I just wish the barrel was a little bit longer but other than that ghd delivered a high quality tool.
