I am very familiar with GHD products, overall quality is amazing. The straightener heats up extremely fast and gets really hot. The plates are really smooth and my hair glide right through without any issues. I don’t like the lack of setting/adjustability but I do like that the buttons are out-of-the-way, so that when I am using the straightener, I’m not accidentally hitting buttons like I do with my other straightener. I’ve used ghd flat irons over the last 7-8 years and have been loving them. The last two I’ve used were the original and the platinum plus. I have not been disappointed. My original stuff works well even after 8 years but I just wanted an upgrade. Just like its previous version, this flat iron heats up very quickly. It does a wonderful job with hair straightening and curling (if you are able to curl your hair with a flat iron). I can straighten my hair soo quickly now with this! ghd Chronos styler is so pricy so I wanted to see for myself how well it worked. It was packaged very smartly with all of the cord next to the main compartment that had a lid and upon opening it stored the cord and a silicone sleeve. The flat iron is simple to use. There's only a power button and that's it and it heated up instantaneously with a little jingle and then it made another sound to let you know that it had finished heating up which was only seconds from the first sound. It smoothed my hair very fast and easily without any smoke that I've noticed with other flat iron and I ended up with silky smooth hair as if I had it done professionally from a salon. ... show more

I used this on my partners hair to test, he had thick 4c hair. It did take a few passes to get this result. It heats up extremely fast, took about 10 seconds. It makes a beep sound when it turns off and makes another sound when it's fine eating. It doesn't like like you can adjust the heat however. I absolutely love love love this! My hair doesn’t feel fried after it and honestly it just is really easy and nice to use. I’ve always had lower quality type styling tools so perhaps that’s why I notice such a change in this one. It’s easy to hold and use one handed. It heats up fast and it’s easy to control.
