Sigh. I really thought this was going to be the one. It's firm and thick enough. Measurements were right on and it fit in the carrier perfectly. My 1 year old GSD left it alone for a couple of weeks. Then I left her for 30 minutes one time and she chewed the zipper. She got at the foam and I had a mess when I got home. She didn't rip the fabric on the outside at all. Nice pad for crate. A little big but it still works. Archie now goes in his crate and lays down with no problem. Cooling side seems to keep him comfortable. Sturdy and durable. He has not tried to share or tear it up. I like that in a crake off cover to wash. Will update once I wash it to let you know how it holds up. So far so good ... show more

I bought 2 of these pads since we have 2 dogs which are crated for periods during the night. They are so comfy. Our corgi can't wait to be told to kennel up at night. The beagle was able to chew off the tag on the soft side so I flipped the pad and it's going strong. So far, so good.

My dog is arthritic. She absolutely loves this bed. I don't know how chew proof it is because my dog is up in age and doesn't chew on her bed or any other furniture but it is very easy to clean. The XXL bed fits my dog’s XXL crate perfectly. I haven’t washed it since my dog has started using it, but the canvas side is easy to vacuum. The bed seems to be well made/sturdy and to the touch, feels a lot more comfortable than a standard crate bed. My larger dog is 109 lbs and the bed supports him nicely.
