I was in need of a new hair dryer. I received one as a gift, but returned it since I had my eye on this. I was going to purchase it in the store, when I searched first on Amazon. I read the reviews with mostly/majority satisfied remarks. I saved $ which is a bonus. I am extremely happy with this purchased. The hair dryer performs as it says well. It dries my hair quickly and nicely. I've tried it with the attachments and even purchased the diffuser - all works great. I love how fast it dries my hear, doesn't dry frizzy at all. I haven't experience any issues with it so far. The dryer is quieter than most inexpensive dryer, at least my older one and there's not a lot of air/wind in a sense that blows your hair everywhere. It dries as it should with heat and in less time (bonus). It's a great dryer for those with thick and even wavy hair. You can use the attachment to straighten your hair, it works just fine.

I have been meaning to review this for a while since I hasn’t been able to use it since August. I bought this in May, 2018 as my hair was so damaged (okay, so I colored it 3 times in one week) BUT it always looked so much better when my hairdresser dried it with her super duper dryer. As I already used the same hair products, I decided to invest in an expensive dryer too. This dryer WAS a little quieter and dried my hair a tad faster.. for about 3 months. Sitting on a vanity bench to dry my hair, I laid the dryer in my lap to reach for something and it slid onto the floor. It fell onto a rug only about 24” from the floor and broke! It would turn on, but made a horrible high pitched sound and spit out one piece of plastic, then several melted pieces(see photo). Now it just smells like it’s burning, so it’s gone forever. Can’t even use the warranty as it was dropped. I was able to register the dryer without problem on their website too. I can’t imagine this being used by a professional and being accidentally dropped from a standing height! It’s back to my Conair Infiniti Pro which has an a/c motor, has lasted forever, taken a beating, still works well AND cost around $30! So disappointed with THIS purchase!

Just want to clarify some things I read in the reviews. I purchased this from Amazon.com as the seller, not a 3rd party seller for just over $100, almost $100 cheaper than Sephora and Ulta. The hair dryer was 100% authentic with a hologram code, and I was able to register it without problem on the GHD website in case anything happens and it breaks within the 12 month warranty. Amazon only has a 30 day return policy, so be sure you register your hair dryer. I bought this to replace a different brand hair dryer that broke and I had not registered it. The other company could not do anything for me since I did not have proof of purchase anymore. This hair dryer is awesome. It’s sleek and dries my hair fast, and I love the cold shot button that helps set my blow out. Solid product that I hope will last for several years.

Update: I purchased the Airwrap and comparing with the GHD I far prefer this hairdryer. I’ve been eyeing the new Airwrap but it’s insanely expensive and out of stock. My old cheap hairdryer stopped working and I needed a new one ASAP. I’ve had the GHD hair straighteners since they came out in 2001. They last forever and do a great job. My hair is naturally very frizzy and takes a good hour to blow dry by which time my arms are aching and I’ve long given up any notion of actually styling These have taken my drying time down to 8 minutes including doing actual flips and waves and something resembling an actual hair style. Thrilled with them. They do cost but honestly they’re worth every penny.

I have a ton of hair and this dryer said it dried a lot of hair very quickly. They are telling the truth. I can dry my very full head of hair in about 5 minutes. My hair is shiny. I had a Rusk Tourmaline dryer before and it just stopped working after about 8 months. I loved it except for that. Anyway, this dryer could use one more setting because the low is a little strong but again, it dries fast and that means A LOT less damage even on high. And I use the low for focused drying on the front of my hair. A bit strong but that's ok, I just use it farther away. Nice in your hand too. Not heavy.

It is the heaviest dryer. It dries smoothly enough and I like it had the universal connect for additional tools like a diffuser. But it's too heavy to really work with on my long hair. And the cold shot button is too stiff, so between holding the dryer and holding the cold shot to set in place, I don't get the smoothe dry I was expecting
