Since it's not round, lids won't close completely. If you won't use it with lids, it's a great pan, especially for the price. It weighs 10.5 lbs which is about 2 to 3 lbs more than the pans same size. So you are getting a thicker, heavier pan which is what you want with cast iron kitchenware.

    • Multipurpose and we LOVE it
I bought this to cover a few uses in my kitchen and it is fabulous. Great as a comal for cooking large flour tortillas (burrito sized) My 10" comal may be retiring since I got this one. Takes a while to heat up evenly, but once it does it is awesome. I also bought this to use as a cover for my 12" Lodge cast iron skillet, works perfectly for that as well when I am frying chicken. Finally, as a pizza pan it is EXCELLENT.... Finally able to obtain a super crisp crust that we couldn't achieve with our baking stone. We preheat it in the oven to 525 and slide the pizza off the peel onto the pan... Wish I had bought this sooner ... show more
