This is a great machine for anyone looking to do better than a crappy espresso bar (local or not a lot of them suck). follow the instructions to clean it out first and then it's good to go from there. My only complaint is the milk frother. I've had a different machine with a different frothing tip that aerated much easier. This machine does work the same eventually but at a slower pace. The best feature has been the predictability. With the pressure Guage you don't have to listen for the pump struggling or time water delivery, it will show on the Guage and the water pumped out is measured to the single or two cup even if the coffee is too loosely packed or there isn't enough. keep the instruction book around for when you need to de-scale the machine. It's a lot of buttons to do the automatic ones. ... show more

I almost didn’t buy this machine because of the negative reviews, but because of the features I wanted to try it out. I am so glad I did! It makes excellent coffee. The people who don’t like it perhaps are looking for an automatic machine. This machine does take some skill and you need to read and follow the directions. Some reviews complain that it leaks. It doesn’t. You need to be sure to insert the filter correctly and turn the handle as shown in this photo. Also realize that the water container can be removed, but just like those big jugs on a water cooler, they release water when you remove and replace it. I simply add water to the opening at the top. Not a drop of water anywhere. It works perfectly. Some reviews complain that there isn’t space for a full size mug. Also not true. The bottom tray is removable, and there is plenty of space. Some reviews claim that the pressure gauge doesn’t work. You do need to turn the machine on and let it warm up. Then release some of the water through the frother. Then brew your coffee. We pay a ton of money for barristers to take care of all of this for us. This machine requires some learning. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll save a lot of money. If you’re not up for that, perhaps get an automatic machine or one that uses pods (by the way, this machine even has the option to use pods if you purchase the correct attachment). Or spend a whole bunch of money at Starbucks. But I personally am really happy that this machine is available for this awesome price. I almost never write reviews but when I saw that this machine is so discounted, I thought maybe it’s because of the negative reviews that it definitely does not deserve!     • Just stopped working after a few months
I've had this machine for about 4 months and it's worked great. Now all of the sudden, when I try to do the espresso shot, water just comes out of the steam wand. I literally can't even make a coffee anymore. I've reset the machine back to factory settings and it still doesn't work. I hope the company can help me either fix it or send me a new one. ... show more

    • Makes good espresso, froths milk nicely, sounds like an airplane
The only problem with this machine is that you will not be able to quietly make coffee in the morning while somebody else sleeps in. Other than that, it’s good. It does not come with a carafe for frothing the milk. There is one in the photo, but not in the box.

My lady bought a Gevi GECME418E-U for the house in October of 2022. It lasted until February of 2023. I contacted Gevi to get the unit repaired and heard nothing back. It has a 30-day guarantee and won't last much longer than that. JUNK...NOT WORTH THE 20 BUCKS LET ALONE 200
