I ordered this Gerry Puffer Jacket Men with Sherpa Lining and Hood – Warm Winter Coat for Men, Quilted Insulated Snow Jacket Outerwear (Black, Medium) to replace my not-so-puffy-anymore puffy jacket. My old puffy jacket has seen better days. So, I decided to replace it before the weather starts turning cold enough to need a puffy jacket. This one from Gerry caught my eye because of the sherpa lining. I can say that the lining definitely makes a difference. This jacket is pleasingly warm. I also like the fact that the lining does not extend down the arms, as adding bulk to the arms can make you look like the Michelin Man. I normally wear a medium for shirts and jackets. I ordered this jacket in medium and it fits as it should. The zipper on this jacket operates smoothly and does not snag the jacket's material. The stitching is tight and straight. I've had puffy jackets in the past that got lumpy after they were washed, so I decided to run this one through the wash to see how it would perform. No issues, there. It came out of the dryer (set to low) in the same condition as it was before washing. My only complaint about this jacket is the logo. I really dislike the way that manufacturers feel compelled to put their logos on clothing. It makes no difference to me if it is a name brand or a brand that no one has ever heard of; I resent doing free advertising for brands. If you are someone who is brand-conscious, you may not want to trumpet your Gerry jacket. If you're more interested in value and performance, though, you should give this jacket a second look. ... show more

The inside of the torso feels like wearing a soft blanket, but the sleeves are lined with a smooth material that makes it easy to layer and slip on without that bulky feeling some puffer jackets have. The sherpa lining in the body and hood keeps my core and neck toasty, while the lightweight puffed exterior doesn’t feel stiff or overstuffed. It’s warm enough for chilly fall and early winter days, and if you throw a thin wind shell over it, it’s more than ready for blustery weather. I went with my usual size and found the fit true to size - roomy enough for a sweater underneath but still clean and structured.
