Fits like it should. I have had Toyotas for years and have always used Toyota filters. I tried another type years ago I had a hard time getting it loose. These filters are shaped so you can use a filter remover to a rachet to make it easier to remove and install. I am not sure if it's a myth or not but they are supposed to lock the oil up to prevent dry starts. The cost to me is not that bad, if it saves your engine. ... show more

OEM oil filter I am currently using on my gen 1 tacoma and LC80 both take the same size oil filter and if you keep up with shortened intervals they should be swapped by the second or third oil change. roughly 10-15k as always oil changes are subject to the age of oil and harshness of the operation of the motor. overall this is a highly recommended product for the 5vz and 1FZ engines. dont cheap on this quality item. ... show more

I typed in "GR86 Oil Filter" and this was the second one listed, so I bought it. Once we started the oil change, my son noticed that it wasn't going to fit. The hole is too small and would not thread on. Not sure why the mix-up, but I blame myself for not double checking the part number. It wasn't a big deal, as we have an auto parts store very close by; just a minor inconvenience having to take a break and take a trip to the store. . Still, it shouldn't have shown this oil filter, if it wasn't going to fit. I included a couple of pictures. The OEM filter is on the right and this one is on the left. ... show more
