    • Be careful on install, ensure fitment before torquing down!
The winch is great and reliable so far. I did have a small issue on install due to some confusion over the models throughout the years. I have read that XP and SP are essentially the same thing and Polaris just changed the name over time. Turns out that isn't the case. Instrcutions say if you have an SP that you would need to relocate the solenoid. Since I have a 2018 570XP, I did such and installed per instructions. It was tight fitting between the radiator and solenoid contacts. Tried to test the winch out and had already worn through the contact boot, causing a immediate battery short. Luckily it wasn't enough to fry anything but it could have potentially been real bad. I put the solenoid back where it was when the winch came out of the box and has been working great since. ... show more

Installed this Polaris HD 2500 winch on my 2019 Polaris 570 Sportsman ATV. The installation is quick and easy if you follow the provided installation instructions. This winch is expensive compared to other winches on the market but it’s truly plug and play which saved me a lot of time, effort, and frustration. Fortunately, I'm not an idiot....the instructions are very poorly written. Not only are they vague and contain spelling and grammar errors, they also show a list of tools required which did not correspond to the sizes I actually needed. Shows as a 20 minute install - yeah, no. Maybe now that I did one, I could come close, but it took a solid hour and a half - again, as I was trying to follow the instructions rather than common sense it. Works great, good winch. While the Polaris winch is a lot more expensive than some of the other brands, I went with the Polaris 2500 LB for its advertised ease of installation. Install was pretty easy, with one exception - I have a factory installed front hitch on my ATV and there is support bracket that I had to remove and trim with my angle grinder to allow clearance room for winch and top wire leads. Wasn't too bad - would have been more concerned trying to fit another brand winch on the ATV. ... show more

The actual winch box (not the amazon shipping box) was badly damaged and all taped together, mighta been a returned. Anyway the produxt was decent and easy to install. Directions are hard to read, just watch youtube. My polaris was a 13, so i had to buy the actual wire that connects the the handle bar switch to the winch. ... show more

    • Easy install; make sure to run wires correctly
Like others, having the convenience of the install and the OEM thumb switch was worth the extra money to me. The power and ground wires have no extra length so make sure you run the wires to the side of the radiator/fan, not over the top. They won’t reach otherwise. Installed this on a 2019 Polaris 850 SP sportsman. You have to remove the solenoid from the side where it is located out of the box and mount it in the middle where the four holes are located in the center of the spool. The directions tell you this at the very last page for my model. Also, you will need to loosen the nuts on the red blue and yellow wires on the winch self to straighten them due to where you need to relocate the solenoid. Other than that, looks and works great and I installed a brush guard at the same time removing the fair lead from the Polaris winch and then reinstalling it on the brush guard. ... show more

    • Very Easy Install to a Polaris Sportsman ATV
This was a great purchase! I had previously purchased a less expensive brand to install on my ATV, but i quickly realized that the additional parts and oversized wiring were going to require more time and effort to install then the lower price winch worth. In addition, Polaris has manufacture installed quick connects for the controls. Based on this fact, it made more sense for me to purchase a higher priced Polaris winch, as opposed to a less expensive winch. With respect to installation, i installed the entire winch in less than 45 minutes, and I am not a mechanic.
