I just received this belt and I was impressed by the padding on the inside on the wide part of the belt. The hardware is heavy duty. This is a replacement for a J&B Leathercraft belt that I have been using for years. A very fine USA made leather belt. They are still in business,but Amazon doesn't carry that brand. The construction of this belt is good, not as good as the J&B, but should last a long time. Time will tell. The only downside to this belt is, that the sizing is off. I measure 37 in at the navel. So I ordered the size that was recommended by the maker. Wrong!, This belt is so long, I have to cinch it up , using the last holes. If I lose a little bit of the fat on my stomach that has been aquired over the last couple of years, this belt won't fit. I need to exchange this belt for the next size down, which is a large, not an xl as recommended. I have sent it back and await my credit, then I will order the large. Update; XL returned, ordered L and received it. I measure 37 in at the navel. The Large fit perfect. Put on, I have four holes left and five if I get fatter. Another factor in belt sizes, is this, this leather is thick and stiff new. After wearing it for a few workouts, the leather has softened a bit and I was able to tighten it another notch. That is why you want the belt to fit in the middle range of adjustment. I give it five stars if it was make in the USof A, but it is made in China.

Thirty years ago during a violent sneeze, I incurred a subluxation of T-10. Occasionally, my back will feel unstable, like I am going to break in half. During my immediate recuperation time, my physical therapist suggested using a weight lifting belt for support. It has been the best recommendation! I have my original leather weight-lifting belt and had to purchase another because I gained some weight. This weight belt is as well made as my first. A stretchy back support is no way as good as leather. I expect this new belt to last as long my first one and support me for years to come.

I wear a 36" pant, but when measured at the belly button, I'm 40" (yuk). I am about 20 pounds over-weight, and in the process of losing weight. With that knowledge, and after reading reviews that consider sizing, I ordered the Large instead of the X-Large. Brand new, this is a stiff belt, so when I put it on, it fit at the third position with seven left over. That's fine for me because I intend on losing weight (that's my plan:-). Some reviews mentioned after breaking in the belt, they had to move to the next smaller position; I guess I will find out. Other than that, this seems to be a very well made belt, which you can't beat for the price!
