  • The planting brush is much tidy and firmer than other glued ones. You could just replace the whole bottom cover when the brush is worn. Dont need to spend much time removing and adding a new brush (If the brush is too long for your bits, we suggest that you could trim it off from the bottom according to the bits length or order a Replacement Base Bottom Cover with 20mm long nylon brush).

Then the Central Chamber will be attached to the Top Cover of the dust shoe. Align the magnets on the Bottom Cover with the magnets in the Central Chamber. Then the Bottom Cover will be attached to the Central Chamber of the dust shoe. Insert the vacuum cleaner tube with 32mm outer diameter into the tube connection of the dust shoe Top Cover

Great quality and it WORKS GREAT! However, the brush bristles are too long and need to be trimmed shorter. You can purchase a shorter brush (which I did), but I found that to be a little too short (although it worked on deeper cuts). You need to EXPERIMENT to see what works best for you!

Install the dust boot today, I am verry pleased with it, Install was easy, had to shorten the brushes, Only thing that would be nice is if the provided access to different lengths of the brushes, Overall verry pleased with it, I made three test cuts and little to no shavings or dust. Up date. Looked and they make a replacement for the lower part with brushes , I ordered it and its perfect, a bout a half inch shorter, Works perfect, Thanks. I'm addressing a few aspects of this item in this review. 1- The concept is great. Permanent attachment to the motor but the body uses magnets to be removed out of the way. I like this part. 2- Length of brushes. There are people complaining about brushes getting in the way. The design isn't perfect. Since the boot is attached to the motor it moves up and down in the Z direction. As the motor plunges the bit into the work the brushes also move down. If the Z movement is large, the brushes hit the surface of the work and bend. You have to be careful about that and make sure the brushes aren't too long for the depth of cuts. The vendor says right in the listing, "trim the brushes"You might want to buy multiple brushes and have different trims for different jobs. 3- Now this is the main part of this review. This boot design has a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. By screwing the motor to the part it blocks the air intake ports that are used to cool the motor. THIS IS BAD! Your motor will overheat.You might think that you'll drill a few holes in the boot but that is not a good idea either. The motor is designed to suck air from the bottom, move it up through the motor and exhaust from the top. If you drill holes in the boot, you are connecting the intake holes to the area where your vacuum is attached. In effect, the motor will try to suck air from bottom to the top and your vacuum will try to suck air from top of the motor to the bottom. Not only the air flow will be unpredictable, also you are putting more strain on your motor as its fighting with the vacuum. Easy solution. Create a little spacer like I did in the picture. It lowers the boot about 10 mm but I would not run the motor with the vents blocked. Hope this helps ... show more

This is the dust shoe to have for the 3018. I suggest you buy the shorter brush as well. I used a hot nail to pierce openings matching the motor cooling vents as others have mentioned shorter motor life from overheating. A small shop vac provides all the vacuum needed to keep cutting dust to a bare minimum. ... show more

I love this dust buster. The only thing i hated is the head is so hard to get off when you need to setup for the next cut. I did a small mod splitting the front to give the bit space to pass.

    • Could be better, could be worse

I ordered this for my Genmitsu 3018-PRO with the upgraded 775M spindle. I noticed when I installed it that it blocks the lower ventilation holes on the motor but figured it was done that way for a reason. I ran a 30 minute cut. I have a 1/8 inch bit in there and had all kinds of issues with the bristles being too long and getting caught up in the cutter. I also noticed after the 30 minute cut the spindle makes some new really high pitch noises and it feels less smooth to rotate than before. I trimmed the bristles about 1/4 inch and ran another hour cut. The spindle did not seem to get any worse but I ordered a new one anyway. It sounds that bad. I'm going to drill some holes in the mounting plate that match up to the vent holes in the spindle motor. Looking at every other design I can find for a 775 size motor they all have vents in them for the motor to breathe. I emailed Sainsmart to tell them this is probably a problem but figured I would warn potential buyers anyway. Drill vent holes in the top piece. Other than those 2 issues it works fairly well. Keeps some of the dust off every flat surface within 20 feet of the machine. The bristles do clog up so keep that in mind for longer cycles. The magnetic attachment is great. Makes getting it off nice and easy but it is strong enough to not randomly fall off. ... show more

Very happy with this well designed item. Fits perfectly and the magnet were a design coup as far as I'm concerned. The base screws to motor with two provided screws and allen wrench then the parts are held together with very strong magnets.
