I have to be fair with this review of this device. It is solely for light projects nothing heavy duty. Do not get this thinking that you will be able to solder 10 gauge wire because you won't. 12AWG and up work best with this device. It will take some time on the 12AWG though. It can undo heavy solder but it will take some time. This device shines of light projects though it's easily maneuverable and to to bulky. It's worth trying out. ... show more

Bought it for soldering jump rings. No cord to drag around my cluttered bench. Gets up to heat in about a minute. Sits upright by itself. I have also used it for electronics and wires. Probably not enough power for stained glass work but for a cordlesss, it’s impressive. Charges pretty quick too.

So my hand's shack/tremble... So I have problems with pen style iron. I was able to use it somewhat good. FIRST ORDER didn't work.

    • customer service sucks
worked 1 time, then stopped working. company would not help to replace even under the 2 year warranty because I could not locate receipt. Purchased in Dec. of 2022, here it is 5-17-2023 and I am out of a very useful tool

    • Works as expected but takes a long time to heat up
I've owned a few cordless battery powered soldering irons in the past and they've heated up in seconds where this take minutes. But other than that it works well especially at this price point and unlike those others, you don't have to hold a button down to apply heat- instead this uses a safety switch with large bright indicator light and keeps it hot until you turn it off. Possible fire hazard? Maybe, but it's more productive if you have several joints to solder. ... show more
