I thought that I had the biggest doggie door but I was wrong. I noticed that my chunky guy's sides were touching the sides of our dog door at home, and yes, he needs to lose a few pounds, but I didn't' want him to get stuck or something! So, I figured that I would try this XL dog door. This is definitely bigger than my former dog door. I was able to install it in the same hole but I did have to make the hole bigger. It intalls a lot like the other door we have so we had no issues being that we have installed a dog door three or four times already. I like the double flaps, we have a weather dog door currently, and that was something I wanted in a replacement to keep out the cold air in the winter. I also like that this door is black. Our other doors were a white/cream and always looked dirty. I much prefer this one and so does my chunky pooch.

This extra-large dog door has been perfect for my big dog. The two magnetic flaps close securely after each use, helping to keep drafts out, and the double sliding lock panels give me peace of mind when I want to keep the door closed. My dog figured it out quickly and loves the freedom to go in and out as he pleases. The installation process was straightforward, and the materials feel durable enough to handle frequent use. The only thing I’d improve is making the magnets a bit stronger for really windy days, but overall, it’s been a great addition to our home!

This dog door is perfect to allow our dogs to be able to go in and out on their own. The size of this door allows even our 120# German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees to pass through with no issues. Installation was easy and no issues there.

Installation was easy, and this dog door works great for my dogs, from my 160 lbs Great Dane down to my 30 lbs Shar Pei mix. The double magnetic flaps ensure a tight seal, and the aluminum frame feels sturdy and durable. The adjustable tunnel fits various door types, and the double locking panels are excellent for added security and weather protection. I have a sun porch., and have a doggie door from it to the backyard. I ordered this to install in the door from the living room to the sun porch. Even though the sun porch is insulated, I think it will help in the summer and winter with heating/cooling bills. The handyman liked it. Just waiting on his schedule to install it. HIGHLY recommend.

The media could not be loaded. This review is for the product listed as, “Weatherproof Dog Door with Sliding Lock Panels, Magnetic Flap Dog Door for Doors, Doggy Door and Pet Door with Aluminum Frame, Adjustable Passage, for Medium Dogs (Medium) by Generic." None of the holes were drilled. It includes rivets that require a special rivet gun to use. The locking knobs are difficult to release when removing the solid panel doors. Not the best choice for a quick remove and replace but if installing for the first time, you will appreciate the template. It is a good size for medium dogs but is slightly more slim than my previous one.

I have big dogs, they usually get extra large stuff to wear, so I instinctively went for the extra large door. Looks like I could have gone for the large size for my 80lb guys. This door is intended to be installed in a door, like actually cut into the door. This is not the type that just gets put on the sliding door track, there will be work involved. Be ready to figure out your mounting solution. Rivets make sense for a steel skinned door, screws for a solid wood door. Both will need some weather sealing. They say to use construction adhesive. I'm going to use polyurethane window/door caulk. It expands lightly with moisture, so it stays waterproof and gets more... waterproofer... when necessary. The single flap is ok, I may take a stab at the double flap just to see, but the climate here is pretty mild. I like that the inside and outside door covers have spring loaded detents to keep them in place. It makes them sound clicky as you slide them up and down but could feel like you have to put in extra effort over a door that just slides freely and doesn't click into place.
