I purchased the lower-output Generac about four years ago. It did everything I wanted it to. My sister-in-law bought a camper trailer with no power except solar, so in a fit of total weakness, I gave her my generator set. I was going along fine without it. Then, one day, my electricity went out, and I could not brew a cup of coffee. As a retired guy, I tend to dwell on things, and I kept thinking if I had my little generator set, I would be drinking coffee. I saved up some points on Amazon and purchased this generator set. This engine on the Gen set likes to start one way and one way only. If you want to pull it to start, and it will run, nope, it's not going to happen. This is a four-stroke engine. You have to take the pull start and pull it out until you feel the compression stroke. Then, let the cord back in for a full pull, and it starts every time. The compression stroke is when you feel resistance at the pull start. ... show more

Great little generator. Not to heavy and I’m able to carry it from one location to another. The run time is approximately 4-6 hours depending on what you have plugged it. It’s quite quiet for the size I’m not sure what to compare it to, maybe a running car engine. Extremely easy to start, although it always takes four pulls to get it running. ... show more

Living in remote Alaska, a generator is a necessity. We chose this generator due to its well known name. Worked great at first using a few hours daily. Fast forward 3 months....3 MONTHS....no notice, no start! Closest "authorized dealer/repair" 4 hours away!! And no guarantee the repair will be covered by warranty. This is NOT what I would expect from this brand!! Honda will be our next stop!! ... show more

Great generator. The power is consistent. The engine is quiet. It is easy to start. I have used it for two power outages, one was for six hours, one was for two hours and I still have gas in the tank. I haven’t had to fill it back up yet.
