Rewrapping my skeins has made them all fit in my storage bins. The yarn "cakes" are much less likely to tangle, and its really fast and easy to use. Its not too loud, but its not quiet either. I save my tp rolls and stick them on the winder, then I wind the yarn around that. It makes the cakes come off easier and I use a portable tp roll holder to dispense my yarn

Very useful for unwinding, rewinding yarn! Sometimes it loosens its grip and I have to retighten it. Sometimes the metal yarn holder will fall down when winding quickly. But good for the price.

You get what you pay for with this, the screw to fasten the machine to the table/work surface is a little bit flimsy, yarn also easily gets trapped underneath the base of the machine. The arm also barely holds up on its own, however for 10 dollars, it’s a pretty good beginner yarn winder, perfect for me who exclusively uses it to make smaller cakes out of larger skeins.

If your wanting half loose cakes it's a good choice but unfortunately it doesn't do a whole skein and it's very loosely wound. Not worth returning and ending up in a landfill so I'm going to give it to my daughter. Wish it was better but didn't expect much for the price.
