I installed this on the rear of my RAV4 that has a rear door that opens sideways. It is the only product I found that would work for this car. I already had the 2 poles and they worked perfectly to support the awning. It was easy enough to install by myself and fit onto the rear rack under my kayak. This will work really well for camping and cooking out of the back of my car when I can't work outside because of rain. The extra side panel will basically give me coverage on all the sides when the back of the car is open. Wow. This took me just minutes to set up. It has so many different options for attaching to the vehicle you just pick one that works for you and you're done. Perfect size for a full size van. The poles are taunt but not impossible to put on and take off. I was worried because it cost so little compared to another one I returned. Good quality. I would purchase again. I bought the Geertop Awning to create a usable work/cooking space in the back of my 2002 GMC Yukon. I'm not an experienced camper but a touring musician who was looking for overnighting alternatives to hotel rooms. I totally disagree with some of the negative reviews I've read about it, and I feel that for the price it's a great awning that did exactly what I wanted it to do. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with very good instructions, so it took a minute to figure out how to set it up the first time. But after the first time I was easily able to set it up and put it in place by myself (Although on a windy day this did prove challenging!) Also, people have commented that it doesn't come with tent poles, so I bought a pole kit only to find that it does in fact come with poles. I did, however, use the extra set of tent poles to prop up the zipper on side piece to create additional "under roof" space. It rained the first time I used it and it did exactly what I wanted it to do which was to keep me and all my cooking gear dry and out of the weather. I've used it now several times and I really like it. I don't think the negative reviews make a lot of sense unless previous versions weren't as good. (Got mine September of 2023) ... show more

After days of looking and having tried 2 other brands I landed on this Geer Top awning... First it's a nightmare to set up with one person. Took forever. To the point that I probably wont want to do it again. If theres even a slight breeze it's a fiasco. The straps are nowhere near long enough!!! Not even close. The poles that give this its dome shape are the diameter of a pencil. I hold no hope that they will last. Now the "extra flap" that they send can conveniently be zipped on either end of the awning - SO WHY didnt they make the USELESS and permanently attached pocketed flap removeable as well???? That flap just makes the whole thing harder to set up. One more zipper could have been easily installed. Next - they didnt bother to put grommets for your poles that hold the other end up. Not bad enough poles arent included, but the only grommet holes up there are used for the pencil sized poles that arch the top. I'm so disgusted with how noone ever thought this design out. It's like it was thrown together just to makesome money instead of giving we consumers a good quality product! Lastly the tarp material is very thin. And the white... geezer- by the time I got it set up in the Arizona dirt it was just nasty looking. The only reason I didnt give one star is the zippered sides. ... show more

After trying to others and returning them, this is the best. I've been looking for one for my tear drop nucamp. The quality is unbelievable. The shade poles for the roof are top quality, the ropes and tie downs top quality the suction cups are a nice added feature for extra security. The tie down spikes top quality. The zip on side flap is perfect. I just tested it in 16 mph winds and the driveway and set it up easily myself and I am over 50 and a woman. This is by far the best awning and the rest were garbage. The price is perfect. I chose not to get the package with the poles, as I wanted green elephant poles for other things as well so I purchased them. But most impressed with the quality, price, and functionality for my teardrop. Go get you one forget the others ... show more

We opened it up to find that major components were missing when we camping. By the time we actually went camping with this product we couldn’t return the product. It was one month after buying it. Not cool. For just this reason of not being able to return it I will never purchase or recommend from this seller of manufacturer. Thanks for a worthless product that I had to finish manufacturing to make it work! ... show more

TLDR: Really cool design, and really great for those cookout and park days ☺️ It’s perfect for these fun kind of family events and was soo much easier than lugging an entire canopy on a park cookout day! It’s made out of nice material, seems super durable, and the green and white colors are a super nice addition as well. It’s not too heavy and is pretty easy to install. Again soo much easier than bringing an entire canopy to an event. We really like this so far, I didn’t want to give five stars until I knew how it held up over multiple uses, but I really do feel like it will hold up. We like it so far, and I recommend it based on our experience currently 😊 ... show more
