Very pleased with the speed and performance. I purchased this GEEKOM IT8 for use as a mini server for the family room after having evaluated a handful of Mini PCs from different manufacturers. Its purpose was to have a relatively inexpensive computer for TV video conferencing, web browsing, and some rudimentary work from the couch. The COVID-19 pandemic crippled the World, and our family was forced to work and study from home. The Mini PC became very valuable to stay in touch with friends, family, teachers, and occasionally, coworkers. It soon became clear that although this mini sized portable desktop had served my original goals exactly as intended, it's a very good choice! I think this mini computer is fully capable of fulfilling any need you have for any desktop, laptop！

The mini computer arrived quickly and was easy to setup. I would buy this computer again if the need to replace another computer would arise. The computer set-up was the easiest we have ever had. We use with Ethernet and then when needed move the computer to another location that only has WiFi connection and all programs and setup continued with out any difficulty. csm

Misleading description! Desktop is beautiful, runs great. Big problem with charger tho. I ordered this overnight needed it soon. And it came with a European power cord. Doesn't say that anywhere on product page. Had to rush out and buy a travel adapter.

This is a decent mini PC that can be used as a main, secondary, childrens or home theatre pc - even a work PC or presentation PC as it is "mini" and portable. It has various ports for connections and a little room for expansion. It's computing power is coming from an older processor, the 8th generation i5 8259U that has a base frequency of 2.3GHz (October 2018 CPU from Intel). That is paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM (Kingston DDR4 2666) that can be upgrade to a total of 32GB RAM using two 16GB dual channel memory sticks (260 PIN). Windows 11 is the operating system (OS) but you can obviously install another if you choose to. The OS is stored and uses the install SSD - a Kingston PCI Express 256 GB drive. It's here that I wish they proviced a bit more info on expansion for the m.2 as it sounds like you can have it up to 1 TB and expand further with a 2.5 SATA SSD (that you purchase separately) but it's not clear if you can have a 1TB or 2TB as it simply says up to 2 TB so it's not clear if that means 1 TB M.2 SSD and 1 TB 2.5 SATA SSD. So either you get 2TB or 3TB which should be good depending on whatever you plan to use this for. Obviously if you throw a lot of video files in high resolution, you'll eat through the storage a lot faster. Speaking of expandability, the mini PC is easy to open up with a Phillips screwdriver - four screws on the bottom. Just be sure not to just pull it apart as there is a cable that runs from the motherboard to the bottom "plate" for the 2.5" SSD drive connection. I included a pic to show how it looks with a drive in place. The memory is like laptop memory so you press two tabs (one on each side) to release and remove the memory stick and when replacing, just slide into place and lightly press down so the tabs "snap" back and hold the memory in place. The mini PC also has built in dual band WiFi. I had no problems connecting to my 2.4GHz or 5GHz WiFi signals on my second floor with my router being on the first floor and opposite side of the house. I also did not experience any dropped connections. The front panel has the power button, headphone/speaker jack, USB 3.2 port, USB C port and two mics. One side has the lock and the other has a SD Card reader - the 'normal' size card reader so if you have a micro SD you will need to use an adapter. The back has the power input, a mini DP port, ethernet port, two USB 3.2 ports, a HDMI port and one USB C + DP port. So seems to have plenty of ports and can apparently support dual monitor connections. It also comes with a plate and screws if you want to attach to a monitor/tv/display using the VESA screw holes. There is also a pull string bag for transporting. The power supply is included as well as a HDMI cord to help you get started. I have been pleasantly surprised by this little guy and it seems to plow along with no hiccups. I even downloaded a STEAM game (HalfLife 2) to play a bit to see if it would lag and there was no issue - I know it's not cutting edge but good to see it can handle it none the less. Don't know if I'll sink about $170 or more into it to max RAM and update storage, but good to know that option is there if I choose to do so.
