Unfortunately, I had to take my lock apart and it appears that I may have damaged the connector when pulling the cable apart. Tried repairing it and unfortunately made it worse. Definitely taking the L on this one and would recommend it as well -- just would express being extremely cautious when taking this thing a part if you ever need to. I ended up ordering a smart door handle instead as I found it to be a tad bit more complex than installing my nest yale door lock. ... show more

    • UPDATED Review!: Great lock, well made, every feature works. Small caveat - Not rechargeable

The media could not be loaded. The reviews were some-what mixed, but I bought the lock, and have been very happy with it. There are SOOO many ways to grant access for this lock, and all of them work well. My most common method is to just use the finger print reader (I've programmed 2 per person, (left thumb & right thumb). I have found the reader very accurate. But all the other access methods work well. The only complaint I have, is that it runs off 4 AA batteries, and while I'm using recharhables in it... they can not be recharged while in the lock... the lock itself can't just be recharged. So.. it looks like about once a month, I'll need to swap out batteries & recharge the old ones. Not a major issue or show stopper... but, you'd think they would have designed it so it can be recharged while intact. Other than that.. been very happy with the lock. Also. use the installation videos, makes it easier to install. 1 Month Update: I have this lock on my home-office door, so I use it multiple times daily. 1st off, still 5 stars review. I've had NO ISSUES with it. I've also uploaded a video to show it working with fingerprint and card entry. You can also adjust the auto-timeout for when the door locks again, from 5 to 60 seconds. Some observations.... The primary way I access/open the lock is via thumbprint. You can record up to 120 unique fingerprints. The accuracy is very high, about 95% it opens on the 1st attempt. That's as good or if not better than my phone. Batteries: My prior caveat was that I figured I'd have to change my 4 rechargeable AA batteries once a month. It has been lasting far longer than that. The batteries were at 86% when first installed. 1 month later after constant use, it's dropped to 56%. At this rate, the batteries can safely last about 3 months before recharging.. That's really not bad. All of the access methods work well though. Phone app, RFID card, thumbprint, key if you have to (though the position of the key is under the lock, so I look at the key as a means of last resort if the battery completely dies). I think this may also work with Alexa, but I never tried. The lock is also very well constructed. All metal components, casings and fittings. Nothing rattles or feels loose or flimsy. All in all, very happy with this lock, works very well, a solid 5 stars! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Bought during an Amazon review. Thought it would be useful with kids, so they can get in without keys. Also to let guests in remotely & I could get in with a load of groceries with the key chain tab. Features looked great, but the one thing it's suppose to do--lock the door--never worked. See video. Says its locked, but turn the blob & you're in. Takes a little to install, but fine. Added finger print fine. But if it doesn't lock, it doesnt matter. On top of that, the knob itself is not ergonomic. Tough to turn. It's on the right side of the door, but need to twist my body to get my left hand on it b/c of how tight it is next to the frame. Final straw, the thumb print sensor sunk in. I've left 5 messages with support. No calls back. No one ever picked up. I actually clicked support for their other business & they said they'd reach out to their very busy Geek product support guy, but I've never heard back. Stopped to post this review & now on my way to return it. Four strikes against. Nice idea, but recommend staying away from this product. *** Updating 1/11/2022 *** I did return the product & their sales support just reached out to me. They want to make it right. Their normal support person has been hospitalized with Covid. In this era, I don't want to tank anyone for battling Covid issues. Removing support from the equation, I'd give this a 3.5 rating, if that were an option. It's their flagship product with the most features & they say my issue with the lock mechanism was a fluke. I'll give it to them that it is a very sturdy hunk of solid metal. It feels bulletproof, but that makes it an issue to turn, especially for the kids. The thumbprint looks & feels like a push button. It was a matter of time before an unwitting guest pressed it before it sunk in. My wife did it on her first use. So kudos to high-end steel materials & price with such full features, but the design ergonomics still need work. Hoping this review helps them in version 2.0, as it is very promising product & still worth it for the right home or work application. ... show more

I have several of these knobs that I use on the exterior front doors to my properties but make sure that the knob does not get direct sunlight or the knob will overheat and discharge all the batteries and fry the battery compartment! The battery imprint can be seen in the pic. Would give this lock 5 starts if it had been weatherproofed more... I ended up getting a similar lock from another company that was weatherproofed better. ... show more
