Description

The GEARWRENCH family of torque wrenches and torque products offer the latest innovations in torque measurement. The line includes micrometer, tire shop, beam, and electronic torque wrenches and torque multipliers. The micrometer wrenches come available in fixed head and flex head. The fixed head line offers wrenches in 1/4" to 3/4" drives. The flex head wrenches are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drive sizes. The tire shop wrenches feature a rugged tire tread rubber cover on the head intended specifically for checking wheel lug nuts and are available in 3/8" and 1/2" drive sizes. The electronic torque wrenches ensure a precise fastener torque level and are available in either 3/8" and 1/2" drives. The GEARWRENCH line of torque products allow you to complete any job where accurate torque is required.

I have a TEKTON 1/2 in drive that works ok. However, I didn't like the bottom nut you tighten when you get to your setting. So I went with GearWrench since they have the handle collar you adjust to lock your setting. I was surprised by its quality and features given its prices. Don't know if the accuracy is true; however, I don't have any reason to doubt it. Solid and well built. A bit heavier than I was expecting, but I didn't need it to be light. Was a bit skeptical of this but didn't want to invest hundreds in a new replacement for my tired 25 year old Craftsman. Especially since I no longer trust the Craftsman brand. Comes with a calibration sheet and seems to be accurate. Release collar motion is nice...allows for easy setting. Just used it to install an intake manifold. Sensitivity at the lower end of the torque range seems good. ... show more

Lately, I have been starting to really like GearWrench products. For this torque wrench, I particularly appreciate the all metal design. My Crescent 1/2 inch torque wrench has a plastic adjustment ring which is already developing a crack after only a few years of light use. Seems to be high quality and has a nice solid “feel” (haven’t yet checked the accuracy), however I wish the “click” when at the desired torque was more pronounced. Particularly at lower torque settings you need to really pay attention to hear and feel the click. Other than this minor gripe, is a nice, solid torque wrench. ... show more

I haven’t verified calibration but this is a nicely made part with smooth adjustment and obvious attention to detail and quality. I jut bought its big brother as well, a 1/2” drive 250 ft/lbs model and it appears to be of equal quality. I have a lot of Gearwrench tools including ratchets, sockets and wrenches and I like them all. I use these tools for work on a regular basis and everything is nicely crafted. ... show more
