Description

The GEARWRENCH combination wrenches are durable tools for most jobs. They are made from alloy steel with either a full polish or satin finish that resists rust & corrosion. The off-corner loading design on both ends provides a stronger grip on fasteners, reduces fastener rounding, and delivers up to 25% more torque to the fasteners. Sizes are stamped on the beam for quick, easy, & permanent identification. The box end is offset 15° for increased access to fasteners. Available in stubby & long pattern lengths and 6 & 12 point, the GEARWRENCH combination wrenches are a must have for every toolbox.

They're made in China, but are very durable. I've had the set for 2 1/2 years now and haven't had to warranty a single wrench. Although I (my shop foreman, actually 😅) did lose the 9/16. New techs just starting out this is a must have. I went looking specifically for the 6 point box end to avoid stripping bolts when I have to double wrench (which I do all the time), but range of motion in a tight space is very limited with fewer points of contact. It has been a worthwhile trade-off. The open end has generic grooves for better grip, but nothing special like Icon or Snap-on. I actually prefer these to those, because I found super tight tolerances to only really be helpful on rounded fasteners. And who uses the open end of a wrench, to try to take off a rounded fastener?? Invest in some Knipex Cobras, a large pipe wrench and Bolt extractors for that. ... show more

My garage toolbox has only Made in USA wrenches, but I wanted a set of metric wrenches to keep in my aging vehicle. The GEARWRENCH 28 Piece Combination Wrench Set (| 6 Point | SAE & Metric | 81923) includes a nice selection of wrenches, are high quality, with a fit and finish that will work for you and last a long time. The weight and size are hefty, and seem durable, though they might not be preferred if you need to access a tight spot. You get a large number of wrenches for the price. These are great for the home "mechanic". As others have said, some of the alignment on the openings are not perfect. This has not been an issue. I love that there are no "skips" in sizes. I used quit a few sizes while changing a lift on my Jeep. The wrenches held up well even under heavy torque loads. They also did a great job not damaging bolt/nut heads. I have 12-point wrenches but specifically wanted 6-point wrenches for the lift because some of the bolts I was removing were rusted and dinged up. I wanted the least amount of damage possible. These wrenches seemed to be a really accurate fit and gripped extremely well. They are great value for what you get. ... show more
