Amazing set. I tried using the set from Menards and it just stripped the boot extra. Used this and it bit that bolt hard and just wouldn't let go. Definitely a mechanic investment. Better to have it and not need it but need it and not have it

Have not had the chance to use them yet, knock on wood. Gearwrench seems to be very good quality though and I have no doubt they will work well when I do need them and will hold up well. There is a nice variety of sizes in this kit. I am glad I will have them rather than having to wait for something to arrive. ... show more

    • Life saver but quality tools
I’ve been watching mechanic videos on YouTube and saw these awesome extractors made by gripedge tools for snap on sized prices. I went wow those are cool but I’ll never need them especially for that price and I have a trusty craftsman set.1 week later I find myself with a plumbing issue and 4 rusty bolts. Two came out with my craftsman set but the other two the heads rounded off and my set didn’t have a size smaller. This set worked great and I ended up working my way 3 sizes down from where I started. Moral of the story is get the biggest set you can afford. Tools don’t expire and having the inbetween sizes was a huge help. This is a quality tool made by a reputable company worked great on my impact gun. Very similar design to the grip edge tool except the centers are not threaded for an extraction bolt. The best part was overnight shipping from prime I was able to get what I needed quickly and finish the project. ... show more

Got the 28 piece set and it is nice to have the half sizes. Just wish they would include the 15mm. Why they skipped one of the most popular sizes especially in the biggest 28 piece set? I don't understand..... With that said they do work great. ( I purchased a 15mm version from matco #HG11M15 to complete the set) Update: Ive had to use these quite a few times including the deep lug nut set they just came out with. They are worth every penny when you make your living working on rusty cars. ... show more

I had a couple of rounded out rusted bolts and was at my wits end. Heat, cold, penetrant, nothing worked. These took them right out. I hesitated a bit because of the costs. Definitely worth the money. I would certainly buy these again and would recommend anyone who is on the fence, just get them! Another great Gearwrench product. Works better than the spiral type bolt extractors. If you are here because you need something to remove rounded out, rusty bolts, and you know that's why you're even reading this, just get them! ... show more

Where have these been all my life?!?! If you are a wrench turner living in the salt belt, working on rusted vehicles/machinery, you need this set. I have never, not once, wrote a review where I say you should buy something, this changes all that. These sockets are a godsend, and have saved my bacon many times over. I’ve removed fasteners that I KNOW I would have had to cut/drill/tap in the past. The negative sizes are just the ticket for those worn/rusted bolts/nuts. As others have said, they skip 15mm. Not exactly sure of the reasoning, but it’s definitely a head scratcher. Even still, this set is awesome. Expensive, yes, but worth it! ... show more
