  • Handy when you need it
Style: 3/8" Drive
Like other GearWrench tools, this strikes you as a quality tool right away. Its simply a 3/8 ratchet without a handle. When you need it, its worth its weight in gold. If you have to drive a bit or socket in a very tight area and cannot fit even the smallest socket wrench in there, this can work to get it started. I was surprised with the amount of torque I could apply without a handle. You can always use this to get too those hard to reach areas and use a traditional socket to torque it also. The only problem I had with this socket is the crappy packaging. They don't make it very intuitive to remove from the packaging. Do NOT try to unscrew the reverse lever thinking that is how you remove it. You simply have to force it out and will likely break the packaging in the process. ... show more

  • Great quality, well made.
Style: 3/8" Drive
This is a great little ratchet to get into tight places. It's heavy and very durable. The ratchet action is smooth.

  • Yes, you need one of these...
Style: 3/8" Drive
Lifetime warranty. Functions well. Selector is made of plastic. The rest is very solid and high quality. Works with my 3/8" sockets.

  • Bigger than expected and very stiff upon first receiving them.
Style: 3/8" Drive
So first impression is that these are bigger than I expected. Says in specifications that they are about 1" long, measured both the 3/8" version and the 1/4" version and they are closer to two inches at 1⅞" across. Not much smaller than my Tekton 1/4" stubby ratchet. Will have to see how that works out in tight spaces in cars. If your not working in super tight spaces these will be really nice for sure as the size of them will probably save your hand from cramping vs a stubby ratchet. Second impression is that the gimbal on both are really stiff. Might try some Super Lube to see if that improves. Back drag doesn't seem to bad, especially for a 72 tooth. They seem to be quality build wise. ... show more

  • Smooth and Durable 3/8" Ratchet
Style: 3/8" Drive
The GEARWRENCH 3/8" Drive 72-Tooth Gimbal Ratchet delivers smooth, precise operation in tight spaces. The 72-tooth design allows for minimal swing arc, making it easy to work where room is limited. Sturdy construction feels durable and handles heavy-duty tasks without slipping. Comfortable grip and gimbal mechanism improve control during use. Overall, a reliable and versatile ratchet for both professional and DIY applications. ... show more

  • A compact, high‑precision access ratchet that solves real engine‑bay geometry problems
Style: 3/8" Drive
I bought the Gearwrench 3/8" Gimbal Ratchet for a specific job on a Jeep: removing the 13mm nut on the starter solenoid cable where hand clearance is minimal and visibility is almost zero. A standard 3/8" ratchet simply doesn’t fit in the available geometry. This tool does, and it does it cleanly. The build quality is classic older‑generation Gearwrench/ATG. The two aluminum rings are machined cleanly with no sharp edges, and the gimbal movement stays controlled instead of floppy. The 72‑tooth mechanism is smoother than many higher‑tooth retail ratchets, and the pawl engagement is crisp with no dead zone — exactly what you want when you’re working blind and relying on tactile feedback. Size-wise, it’s roughly half the size of my palm, which makes it ideal for pairing with a shallow or standard‑depth 13mm socket in extremely constrained spaces. The head has no noticeable slop, the rings rotate without binding, and the ratcheting action stays consistent under load. This is not a torque tool; it’s an access tool. And in that role, it’s excellent. When you’re dealing with fasteners tucked behind wiring, heat shields, or frame members, the gimbal design lets you maintain drive engagement even when your wrist and forearm are forced into awkward angles. A well‑executed precision access ratchet with clean machining, smooth mechanics, and reliable tactile engagement. It earns its place in any toolbox that deals with real‑world tight‑access automotive work. ... show more

  • Handy tool
Style: 3/8" Drive
Great small hand tool for quick ratcheting instead of using a large hand tool and tight places

  • Gearwrench quality. 3/8” Palm drive for tight locations.
Style: 3/8" Drive
3/8” drive palm ratchet. Excellent for tight spots. Have 1/4” palm & this completes the set. Used on my Volvo XC60 repair. Gearwrench quality. 3/8” palm drive more common size to complete 3/8” drive tool set.
