  • Quality ratchet
Style: Full Polish Stubby Flex, 5"
Quality ratchet at an affordable price. Operates smoothly and will fit in places where a full size ratchet just won't fit. Well made.

  • Satisfied thus far.
I've been using this semi-professionally (Technical school 3 to 4 times a week usually) for about half a year now which feels long enough to me to reasonably comment on them. No problems with wear thus far, but it's not been truly long term though so I'd still consider it more 'no obvious and immediate issues'. I like them both allot, the small swing to engage really helps and it's nice and smooth, head is pretty thin too which is nice. As for the flex head personally I like the detents to hold it, yeah it's not as 'infinitely' adjustable, but it's probably less likely to get sloppy overtime and truthfully the increments it has are going to cover 99% of use cases anyway. When it pops in it really holds the angle, I much prefer it personally. I saw one guy claim you can't move it easily while working, but frankly he must have the weakest fingers know to man, the engagement is positive, but not heavy and it's trivial to pivot it between the positions while it's on a bolt. Handles I'm kinda conflicted on. The rubber is definitely is easier to get a solid hold on and slips less, but that goes hand in hand with it collecting gunk and being obviously less durable then chrome. Overall I think I still prefer the rubber though. This specific one is nicely shaped and seems to be holding up well so far to having been dunked in several types of fluids as well as the usual wear and tear. Both the ratchets in this set are pretty long, the 3/8th in particular, that can be good or bad depending on the task ,but the 3/8th is big enough to sometimes be obstructive, but on the other had that big handle gives you lots of leverage. Still if this was going to be like your one 3/8th ratchet I'd look at something a few inches shorter. The 1/4th is I'd say slightly longer then average too, but less so, honestly in it's case I mostly find it a benefit, quite a few 1/4th are so stubby I often find it hard to get much leverage on them in any kind of awkward position. Edit: Checking in with no over a year of daily professional use as well, still holding up fine though the 3/8th is missing a chunk of rubber now from when I stupidly got it pinned trying to use it on a idler. Consider that a point in it's favor though, it took a ton of force to get it back loose, but it kept on trucking. ... show more

  • Love all my Gearwrench Rachets
The GearwrenchFlex Head Ratchet has proven to be another fantastic addition to my Gearwrench collection. I'm a big fan of their products, and this ratchet is no exception. While it's made in Taiwan, it doesn't compromise on quality or performance. The standout feature of this ratchet is its incredibly small engagement angle, which makes it an absolute savior in tight spaces. Whether I'm working under the hood of my car or tackling a home improvement project, this ratchet's flexibility and precision come to the rescue, allowing me to access and tighten fasteners in the most cramped and challenging spots. What I love most about GEARWRENCH tools is their commitment to innovation and quality, and this ratchet is a prime example. The 120XP design, with its fine-tooth gear mechanism, ensures that I can achieve precise torque application with minimal effort. It's a tool that not only simplifies my work but also adds a layer of convenience to my projects, proving that Gearwrench is a brand I can consistently rely on for high-quality tools that never fail to impress. ... show more

  • Great 1/4" 120 tooth ratchet
I like this ratchet so much I bought a spare. I wish someone would make a small torque wrench with the 120 tooth ratchet concept, tired of tight spaces and large angular increments when torquing fasteners. Pros: -- 120 tooth (3 degree), and tight, very little slop -- excellent finish, off and on are stamped on the head -- so far very durable, have used this wrench a lot over the last year or two with no problems, still seems tight as new -- this is the flex head version, and the flex head is tight, strong, and works well. Rarely a problem with the flex head flexing when not wanted. Cons: -- no button on the head, no option to better lock socket or extension to ratchet. Ball bearing is tight with strong spring so this hasn't been a problem -- when your buds realize how nice this ratchet is, the ratchet might disappear I have the whole set of 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2, and find that the 1/4 is the most used, followed by 3/8. ... show more

  • Big improvement from my Big C 24 and 48 tooth ratchets
Yeah, I have been in the auto repair and custom business for since the 80-90s. Many of us grew up on 24 and 36 tooth count ratchets. That was the cause of bruised knuckles, torn skin, and just about anything that can happen under a car. Plus any words said in anger under a car stay under a car. That is just the way they we were built. Anyway, 70% of my garage time with autos are with small foreign cars so 80% of my tools are geared in 3/8 inch. So having a variety of 3/8 inch tools, skews, bit of various sizes various types and sizes saves a brick load of time. But these tools are awesome and I can say that mechanics today are worth their weight in gold. They have too deal with so much more in a lot less space and with less time. My hats off to any current day mechanics using the best tools to keep cost down for the average consumer. You guys are real pros. But I gotta say tools like this ratchet reinvigorate my love for fixing and maintenance of cars, tractors, engines, boats, trailors and just about anything that passes through my garage. I can't wait to put my old stuff on the memoir shelf and get to it with these newer ratchets. Peace to all. ... show more
