I purchased this "budget" antenna for an attic install. Prior to this, I had one of the infamous, flat wall antennas mounted behind my tv. First, when this arrived, the box has split open. The box itself is totally inferior. I can't blame the carriers. Due to that, my box was missing the plastic end caps for the tines. No biggie, this is an attic install. Assembly is a bit of a guess. Sure they have instructions, but it's tough to follow them. After an hour or so of fiddling, I got it together. I installed the antenna in my attic as high as I could get it, aimed at the TV towers (~29 miles away). The results are great. I went from 29 channels to 62. Keep in mind that this antenna 1) is directional, and 2) is mounted a lot higher up than my flat antenna. Since it's directional, I only get good reception from the towers in one direction; no biggie, those are the channels that I wanted. So far, it's working great. My "local" ABC channel was very hit-and-miss before. So far, it's been 100%. I have the antenna paired with a Tablo 4th gen. Now I just need an Nvidia Shield Pro to get the best upscaling. Bought two of these. Have line of sight view of the broadcast antennas about 35 miles away. Picture is stable and clear and it receives a wide variety of HD channels in addition to the prrimary channels. Not sure if we are truly getting 4K, but the picture and sound are great on our 65" Sony 4K TV. We've had a lot of trouble with prior, much more expensive, antennas and indoor antennas don't work at all in our house. I was pleased at the small footprint of these antennas. Purchased this after reading reviews that it was finally an HD antenna that worked, so is it? Yes, when you find the right position for it (and that includes how the cable is run and looped and hung between it and the television). Slight movement of the cable will alter the reception for certain channels - just as it does for the less expensive thinline models. It is modern looking and when assembled purports to sit on a cabinet or table top, but the instructions also say to put it as high on the wall as possible or near a window without aluminum frames, so unless you live right in a metro area with transmission towers, it will not work on a low cabinet or window sill. I am 45 miles from the towers and this antenna does provide a fairly steady HD broadcast when in the right position, which for my living area was as in the attached photo. That's right, vertically instead of horizontally as designed to hang or stand. Lacking a way to hand it on the wall in this position, it is draped over the corner of the picture behind it. Notice how the cable is stretched behind the picture as well. If I move that cable, I lose half of the over the air HD channels. It would have been nice to have this in white if I have to have cable strung behind and on either side of a picture. You probably won't have this issue or same configuration to make it work however; if you are closer to the towers or in line of site. It works as well as the others and a little bit better for continuous, non-pixelated picture, when located correctly. (Wind and storms and tree movement can also affect HD signals, as can raising your metal garage door with the antenna on the wall facing the garage. And like antennas of old, it can be clear when you position it and as you walk to the couch, it can change the signal because you aren't touching it, but this is true of all these indoor HD antennas, not just this one.) I gave it 3 stars only for the lack of a design that doesn't allow it to be hung curved side facing the wall, or vertically instead of horizontally. Overall, I get the same channels as with two other, cheaper indoor antennas, but a more consistent signal, and the HD is BETTER than what my cable company provides for the same channels, some of which are really free over-the-air. To hang it on the wall, you must use it disassembled, but the problem is, the side that would hang on the provided screws and plastic sheetrock spreaders, turns it backwards from the position it operates best in - which is the curved side with the cable attached facing the signal transmission towers. ... show more

For whatever reason, my flat plastic OTA antenna I had been using for years stopped getting Fox, which I only watch during football season. Figured it was time for an upgrade. Got this, installed it, placed it on the bookshelf right next to the cheap plastic flat one and it pulled in 7 more channels, including Fox. All set for football season now! And lol to the the review on here where the guy didn't even take it out of the box but gave it one star.... ... show more

I've only had it for a few days but for the price I paid (less than $25), this is a bargan. I have tried many other outside antennas that promise 150 mile range and even one that stated 1,000 miles. The most local channels I ever picked up with those units was approximately 40 channels. When I installed this unit and rescanned for channels, it picked up 99 channels! The only issue I had with this purchase was that I had to request a replacement unit due to the poor shipping by Amazon. They did not place it in any top of shipping box and the manufacturers box had split and lost some parts when I received. THIS IS AMAZON'S FAULT. ... show more

Im running 2 TVs simultaneously on the gulf coast about 65 miles from me as the crow flies and I get easily 108 channels, granted some are QVC and PBS but seriously dont spend big money, buy this thing
