Waited to review this until I used it for a while because the price was hard to believe. I have made peanut butter twice (it will make you throw rocks at the stuff in the jar), Catalina dressing twice, pie crust, relish, and bread crumbs and I was satisfied with all of the results. The small container is a big plus if you are making a small amount of something; ingredients mix together well and clean up is easier. I have not used the grating, slicing or emulsifying parts yet, but since I have mixer attachments and a top notch blender I don't need them anyway (reviews on these were not stellar). I had a ten cup processor that I had used for ~15 years that was still going, but not in good shape at all. I had broken off the safety thing and had to hold one hand wedging it in to be able to run it, and it also had a slight leak if you let if get too full in recent months, but it worked. I use these things probably weekly which doesn't sound like much, but when I use it I tend to use it for hours making bulk stuff to can or freeze. Buying this new 12 cup one really changed my world! Plus I love that it has the smaller footprint on my counter. I have just left it out instead of putting it down in the lower cabinets. Also it does still fit under the upper cabinet, so you can push it back out of the way or open the cabinet doors with no issues. I cannot believe that I waited so long to replace that hunk of junk that I was using before. If you are on the fence, I suggest jumping in and giving it a try. If you have never had a processor, it will amaze you with how many things it can do to reduce your time spent chopping and blending. I have only had it for a couple of weeks, and I have not yet even tried the smaller inset chopper feature, but I love it so far. I have filled my freezer with hummus and made a couple jars of peppers to ferment for hot sauce already. Funny thing: A friend asked if she could have my old one because she had never had a processor. I expect her to upgrade pretty soon because she cooks a lot more than I do! If you want to enjoy your time in the kitchen more, I think you need one too! ... show more

I searched for a while to find what I thought was the right food processor. This one sounded good and I thought GE would be a solid name to trust. The machine is horrible. It doesn't blend anything in the larger bottom bowl with any consistency. I end up having to take the top off, stir what's in the bottom, put the top back on, process... repeat again and again. I've tried all the blades and the food just bounces around on top of them. Then, when using the grating/slicing discs, only the first part of the veggies grate/slice. There's always a big chunk that falls sideways that you have to fish out later and chop by hand. I wish I could return it. ... show more
