Purchased Ge dehumidifier APYR50LCG1 in May 2024, and after running flawlessly it stopped operating with an Error Code E6 in June 2024. Turned it off, unplugged it, and then plugged it back in numerous times hoping it would reset and function as it previously did. It would operate for a short while, then Error Code E6. Purchased two other brands prior with each lasting only two seasons. Thinking GE would be more reliable, the purchase was made. Recommended this unit to a neighbor based on the GE Name Brand and owning other GE products, and now I will have to inform him of the reliability issues I am experiencing with this dehumidifier. Will be calling GE, because the website online support is not recognizing the model number. **Another one bites the dust** ... show more

Wait to buy this product until they fix the window that shows the water level in the bucket. The window does not go high enough. When the bucket is almost full, the water line is above the window, making it look the same as when it's empty. You can walk by, look at the window, not see anything to worry about, and then when you're out of ear-shot, the bucket-is-full signal beeps and it turns off. You come back hours later only to find it hasn't been doing anything. It would be so simple fix this and avoid so much frustration. ... show more

This dehumidifier does seem to dehumidify a space -- so that's something. A lot of the other critical reviews nailed it. It runs louder than I was expecting. Depending on where you're stashing it that might not be much of an issue for you. The hose needed for the pump was not included. The Amazon listing says a hose is included. There's a sticker on the unit itself insisting that the hose is included. But there's no hose anywhere to be found. It would be comical, but you can't just go out and buy a garden hose to replace it. The pump seems to need a narrower diameter hose to push the water. A garden hose probably works if you're just letting gravity do the work, but if you didn't need the pump you wouldn't be buying this version anyway. Until I get the hose situation straightened out I'm having to manually empty it. What a pain. ... show more
