  • Fully functional Fully functional
Color: Silver
This remote is great, it's extremely straightforward and simple to use, much like the factory remote. It can connect to pretty much any tv with a IR sensor. It feels good in the hand and feels well built. And it offers a soft blue backlight. It's easy to connect to a TV. It comes with a booklet for TV codes so you can punch one in manually and see if it'll work, the remote can also search for codes automatically. Do note that if a feature is missing from your old remote or a button doesn't work right, try a different code. You can connect 4 devices total on this remote and in the case of my Vizio TV, all the buttons match my original remote (excluding the streaming shortcuts). It's a good sized remote and I highly recommend as a replacement for your old remote. ... show more

  • Actually controls all of my devices.
Color: Gold
The last universal remote I used before this one was from about 10-15 years ago but this one is the first that has worked 100% perfectly! ++ 2 Double A batteries: VERY convenient. ++ The first code worked for each of my equipment pieces. ++ Can make the volume & mute button always be controlled by one of the 4 programmable pieces no matter which device you are controlling. The first code worked with my TCL 6 series roku tv. All the buttons work exactly the same as they do on the roku remote. I have a pioneer AV sound system (vsx-830) The first code worked for that. This remote also controls my Xbox one X which I use as my blu ray player. You are able to program the remote so that no matter which device you have selected to control, when you want to change the volume it will automatically use the audio device. I can be controlling the roku TV and easily mute commercials or change the volume without having to press the AUD button to change to that device. It's the perfect remote that actually made all my devices be controlled with just one remote. 5 stars. ... show more

  • Bright lights!
Color: Graphite
Remote was easy to set up and works with my Samsung tv. I do wish you could dime the backlights as they are bright enough to almost hold a candlelight dinner with. Overall, I’m satisfied and I’m not worried about not seeing the buttons on the remote.

  • Works perfectly, Very quick and easy to connect
Color: Silver
Easy and quick to set up and works great. I had to return another brand that had said it was compatible with my setup but wasn't, so I was thankful this product worked exactly as stated. I like that the buttons are backlit to easily see in them in the dark as well.

  • Inexpensive, durable, works great
Color: Graphite
This is the third one of these I have had. They seem to last about 3-4 years before the buttons start to fail and the device sort of wears out. Each time they have gotten cheaper. This one was half the price of the first one I bought 6+ years ago, but it is better: it is fully backlit and uses AA batteries rather that AAA, so theoretically they should last longer. ... show more

  • Great remote, simple and fast to setup
Color: Black
It took me a grand total of 20 seconds to setup my Sony tv. The very first code worked immediately. The bright blue backlight is sweet. It controls my 2024 Sony tv flawlessly. Even more amazing is the price-under $8! It doesn’t bother me that there are no presets such as Netflix, etc but if I’m too lazy, I use the original tv remote for that. But I find today’s smart tv remotes too small, and in a low lit room at night I’m always pressing the wrong buttons. It’s much brighter than the backlight Roku remote I had, but that remote separately is $30! Its one of the best purchases I’ve made. ... show more

  • Great if you don't need to turn on subtitles, or fast forward to next section
Color: Black
I bought this for my VIZIO TV, Samsung DVD, and Sony VCR. I wake up during the night and have a great DVD that always puts me back to sleep. So I wanted a remote that I could work at night. And one one remote instead of the three (well, usually I just have two out). The price is definitely right. It was easy enough to set up. But the buttons I use often are not available: Forward (and/or Back) to Next Section, and Subtitle. I thought that maybe a different code would get the fast forward button to go to the next section if I held it, so I went through all the codes. Twice. That didn't work. I also tested the A,B,C,D buttons to see if those might bring up Subtitle, but they never did. Another problem for me is that the lights don't go on until you hit a button. So I have to feel around to try to hit a button that will not turn off the unit, or go back to the menu, or .... It's easy enough to find the on button, but the lights go out so quickly that by the time the DVD is loaded and ready to go, I have to feel around again. For a while, after setting up, the back lights did not work at all (except for the on button). I took out the batteries and tried new ones, but that didn't do anything. Yet after putting the new batteries back, and putting the old batteries back in, the lights came on again. I have no idea what that was about. I think this is great for using in the day time or dusk, and if you just watch TV, or turn on a DVD and watch the entire show. But I like to watch DVDs that have chapters and I need to get to the right place easily and quickly. I also need subtitles. This remote does not work for that. ... show more

  • Not perfect, but a nice remote
Color: Silver
*UPDATE* - The remote died already. I'm writing this in Jan '23, but the remote failed on me a couple of months ago. In all, it lasted less than 5 months before it quit working since I originally wrote my review. I only use it for about 1 hour per night and typically only for volume and setting my sleep timer; very light use. The backlight still works on the remote, but all of the buttons stopped controlling my devices. Hard to say whether it was the circuit board or the infrared transmitter that died. Either way, remotes shouldn't die this fast. I've updated my rating from 4 stars to 1 star. Also, the backlighting turned out to be a little too bright. I saw someone else mention this in the reviews before I purchased. I initially didn't think it was too bright, but after some weeks of nightly usage, the blue lights started bothering me. It really is a little too bright after your eyes have adjusted to the dark. This depends on your own environment, of course. Unfortunately, there are almost no other backlit remotes out there to choose from... Original review below: --- I bought this remote to control two devices: an old Panasonic plasma TV, and a Sony DVD player (DVP-SR510H). For the TV it works perfectly. The remote mostly works fine for the DVD player, but none of Jasco/GE's codes for Sony DVD players will operate the eject button. My DVD player was (once upon a time) one of the most popular budget players on the market, from one of the biggest brands, so I find that a bit surprising. I double-checked the factory Sony remote, and it has an eject button, but this capability seems to be absent from the GE remote even though it too has a physical eject button. A little disappointing, but I can't think of a single reason I'd ever need to remotely eject a disc anyway.. so it's not a problem. Everything else seems to be working fine. With just my TV and DVD player connected, if I am watching a DVD with the remote in DVD mode and press the volume buttons, it will control my TV's volume. I'm glad it does that, I was concerned I might have to switch to TV mode to adjust volume, but it works exactly how I had hoped it would. The buttons are a little mushy, but again, no big deal. The remote feels very balanced in the hand and looks nice. The backlight is nice to have, and it was the primary reason I purchased this remote over any other brand. It's surprising that this feature isn't standard on most remotes. In fact, there are hardly any other universal remotes available that offer backlighting. The packaging it comes in is very generic.. a plain white box with the remote and 2 booklets. No bubble wrap, no nothing. Shipped in a padded envelope from Amazon. It arrived a little crushed, but no damage. ... show more
