GE Advanced Silicone 2 Window and Door sealant is a high-performance, 100% silicone and 100% weatherproof sealant ideal for protecting areas susceptible to harsh weather. Our sealant is 40% more flexible than Class 25 sealants and has 5X stronger adhesion than our Silicone 1 sealant. This sealant also has a low odor thanks to its neutral-cure formula, and it won’t discolor most high- end metal finishes such as chrome, bronze, and nickel. Use GE Advanced Silicone 2 Window and Door sealant on a variety of surfaces, including windows, doors, siding, trim, molding, baseboards, vents, basements, attics, and around wires and pipes.

Used this to seal some areas around windowsills that were letting cold air in overnight. It dried quickly and seemingly invisibly as I had worried the "clear" color wouldn't actually be clear. Earlier this month, I realized one of my toilets was leaking from the bottom. (I know, ewwww) I found out the seal had broken and needed to be replaced. I had someone replace it for me, and he recommended that I get some type of sealant to use around the base of the toilet, just as an extra precaution - an extra layer of protection. I saw this and liked that it is clear so I decided to order it. I didn't realize you could just squirt it right out of the tube to use it. It was so easy! The guy told me to give it about 24 hours to dry and it should be good to go. I felt it and it is dry, just feels kind of rubbery. Unless you get right down on the floor beside it, you can't even see it. I'm really glad to know about this product - I'm sure I can find other uses and the tube can be used again and again until it's gone. It doesn't get dried up in the tip where you can't squirt it out anymore like a tube of super glue does. ... show more

I am happy with this Silicone Caulk from GE. I picked the 2.8 oz tube of clear caulk designed with a stronger adhesion for windows and doors (places that have a bit more vibration and temperature change stresses). This tube is the type formed with a nozzle that can be cut with a razor/carpet blade at a suitable opening size. My prior experience is that the screw-cap may allow you to get a second use out of the tube, but that's not a given. If you're maintaining a home, it's generally a good idea to have a tube of caulk around so you're prepared for random projects and, although this caulk has properties designed to handle more physical stress, it can also be used in place of regular gap-filling caulk if needed. ... show more

Had a gap in a door on my 100 yr old house. This is in the paneling of the door. It doesn't line up like it did when it was built, and I'm sure a century of snow storms has something to do with that. That being said, we live on a corner and get extra dark road dirt and such, so, after a few months you'd see it on the inside of the door at that crack. Not much, but some, so you know there's an air gap. Got this caulk, and put it on, and it dried invisible, which is great, really set into the crack, and best of all the door is now more sealed than it was. Excellent. Nice to have the resealable tube with the top for small little uses you may have, probably making it last a bit longer than the large tubes you'd use in a caulking gun. I always see my husband use those, then have them go bad after a few weeks. If you can use toothpaste, you can use this. ... show more

I’ve used this excellent silicone sealant/caulk on many doors and windows. It holds up very well to weather and the sun and is more mildew resistant than any caulks I’ve used that are not 100% silicone. As noted on the tube, paint will not stick to this caulk. Previously, I have used much larger tubes in a caulk gun. While this is often a better tactic, this 2.8 oz squeeze tube works better for small jobs and tight spaces. The screw-on cap provides a tight seal that should keep remaining caulk useable for months; something that’s hard to achieve with the larger tubes. ... show more

It's a good product but the shipping was terrible! Ordered on Nov 26, didn't get shipped until Dec 7th! Finally arrived on Dec 11th. I ordered specifically because it said 2 day shipping! WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THIS SUPPLIER AGAIN!!! Wouldn't recommend to anyone!!
