Overall, I'm really pleased by the air conditioner's quality & performance. The remote control is very handy. It's just the right cooling capacity for our 11 X 9.5 foot (104.5 square foot) bedroom. However, the exhaust hose of the included window kit is really thin, brittle, flimsy, and is not reinforced with a metal spiral ring (I took off one star soley because of that). So I bought another window kit that has a much better, heavy-duty, metal reinforced spiral ring exhaust hose vent. ... show more

I just got this air conditioner installed and up and running before the weather turned really hot and I'm so glad I did! This my be my smartest purchase of the year. My small living room gets insufferably hot during July and August. Last summer was awful. This summer I got smart and decided to invest in a portable air conditioner. In my case, having the air conditioner out in the living area works far better than having one in a window. I can easily position the unit to blow cool air near me or even on me. The controls are easy and the noise, although very audible, is not annoying. It is the sound of cool in the summer. The controls are very accessible and easy to use. The window insert is a bit flimsy in my opinion, but it is also very versatile. There are instructions to guide the buyer through the installation process. It was slow going for me for a while, but I'm so glad it got this running and cooling me off just in time. ... show more

Waited a month for this thing to finally arrive, got it installed, turned it on... and the fan doesn't work. I can hear the compressor turn on, but there's just no air running through. Tried different outlets, tried checking the fan for obstructions. None of the troubleshooting guidance solved the problem. It was just dead on arrival. Additionally, the package has several industrial stables and parts of the cardboard have been replaced by brown packing tape, as if I'd gotten a used product even after I'd explicitly checked the listing to make sure it would be new. ... show more

Let me start by saying, this unit does a great job of cooling the 10x12 bedroom I have it in. It doesn't struggle to keep the room right around 76 degrees, no matter the temperature outside. The noise level is perfect for me. It's quiet enough to not be obnoxious, but it's loud enough to drown out outside noise and it isn't an unpleasant sound. There are 2 fan speed settings which makes a modest, but noticeable, difference in the noise level. Installation was really easy, it even comes with the foam tape for the window piece. The only ding for me is the whole "self evaporating feature". It makes it sound like draining the tank will be a rarity, but I had to drain the tank twice in 2 weeks. Not sure if it's just the setting I have it at, or what, but that doesn't seem all that impressive. Also, the tank is supposed to be 24 ounces, but the first time I drained it a lot less than 24 ounces came out. I will say that it's been over a week since I've had to drain it, so maybe it was just a 2 off. All in all, love the unit, would definitely recommend for a small room. ... show more
