I wasn't sure what to expect there were no reviews when I ordered. Just finally got around to getting it put together. I'm not sure what the negative reviews are about. It is big, but the product dimensions are available. The design is kind of weird in that the entire middle part is a drawer that sticks out one side but it works as a step for the cat. My dog is interested but hasn't been able to steal any food and my cat likes it. I put scratchers in the bottom but it's also a good space for storage. I'll probably put a flat catbed on top. I used a blanket to drape over the (back?) It's kind of designed like it could be an island furniture piece. Idk. It's what is advertised and it serves it's function. My dog is a 50 lbs little guy though. Update: all three cats have warmed up to it, I am still satisfied ... show more

    • Keeps Dog Away
This item is great for keeping my dog away from my cat when he is eating. The cats love to go inside the bottom shelf. I like that I can see my cat through the plastic circular opening. I thought this would be taller (did not check dimensions) but it is actually the perfect size.

    • Waste of money does not keep dogs out
It does nothing to keep dogs out of the cat food so it was a complete waste of my money. It was pricy but I was hopeful that it would keep the cat food away from the dogs

    • Overpriced and instructions stunk. Be prepared to have a few extra sshort screws with bigger heads.
This is described as an assembly time of 30-40 minutes by a few buyers. Don’t believe it! The assembly guide is poorly illustrated with important steps too small to see orientation and fastening points. I will say all drilled holes lined up accurately; however, when I got to the final step, the slide brackets’ openings were too large for the screw heads so I could not get them to mount. When I found some workable substitutes, one of the holes had gotten too large for the screw body. Finally, I broke off two sections of a toothpick and was able to rig a solution. To rub salt in the wound, I paid over $20 more than the current pric…over $140! I’d have done better building one from scratch. ... show more

Easy to follow directions. Fairly easy assembly that does require two people at one point. Sturdy. I wish they had screw covers to hide the screws. Would make it more attractive

Quality is good. A little time consuming putting it together but easily done. It was bigger than I expected but works well for our three cats. We specifically wanted this to keep our dog out of the cats food
