Very nice tonneau cover for Dodge Ram truck beds.
Style: Retractable
Size: 6' 4" Bed
The Gator Recoil fits perfectly on my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn. It's very sturdy and appears very durable. It can be installed easily by one person and it takes roughly about an hour or so because of having to measure the unit perfectly so that it's centered properly on the bed of your truck. I made the mistake of following a YouTube video for installation. What the YouTube video doesn't tell you is that there is an extra step for certain trucks, especially my truck. For my particular model truck, there are extra rails that come with the unit that need to be affixed to the front of the bed to help center the Gator unit to the top of the truck's bed. Initially, I thought the width of the Gator Recoil Retractable Truck Bed Tonneau Cover was too short for my truck because from left to right, the spacing of my truck's bed is 65-1/2 inches. The Gator Recoil Tonneau unit is also 65-1/2 inches. I called "RealTrucks", who apparently handles all questions and concerns for Gator products, and the the rep, who was extremely friendly, explained that in the installation manual, on page 7, there is an extra step that I would need to follow after completing step 3. After learning that, installation was a breeze. Just one other tidbit that I would like to share for anyone who is deciding to purchase this product... there is a white plastic spacer that is about 1/8 inch thick. That is used to help you set the rails close enough to the tailgate so that you have that perfect seal when your truck bed is closed. If the rails are too far away, there is a gap. If the rails are too close to the tailgate, the lip of the tailgate will have a hard time closing. There is a diagram in the manual that isn't very clear, but as soon as you get to this particular step, all of it will make sense. I wish I took pictures of what I'm trying to explain and I wish I could try and take pictures of it now, but I lost that little white plastic spacer. My bad. Compared to a lot of the other retractable tonneau covers that I've seen, the Gator is one of the best ones out there for the price.

2013 Ram 2500 Does not fit!!!
Style: Retractable
Size: 6' 4" Bed
No comment on quality. Fitment guide says this is correct to my truck. My 2500 with 6.4’ no Rambox bed has a taper. It’s about 65” wide between the rails at the front and about 62” at the tailgate. The canister is about 65 1/2” across. It will not correctly sit on the side rails and create a seal as it needs to. It’s at least 2” short in width. Can’t get useful help from Gator support about my specific application. That in itself is disappointing. They should know every application well. That’s what they do! Big hassle but had to return. Will contact a different brand to find a better knowledge base and confirm my specific application.

Awesome bed cover
Style: Retractable
Size: 6' 4" Bed
Best bed cover you can get. Way better than the 3 piece tri fold style. Rolls up extremely easily. Install was a little tricky at times but that’s more because I got ahead of myself in the instructions. Follow the instructions step by step and you’ll be fine. 10/10 would recommend

Nice But Be Careful With The Plastic Parts
Style: Retractable
Size: 5' 7" Bed
Be careful with the "stops" ...or "latch catchers" and the end caps that go on the ends of the rails. They are cheap plastic, and really shouldn't be. And the instructions say something about not tightening more than 5 ft-lbs. What it should say instead in big red letters is (THESE PARTS ARE CHEAP PLASTIC AND ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE OVERTIGHTENED SO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL). It all worked out, given a long robust screwdriver and a sledgehammer to break things loose that were tightened to 5 ft-lbs, and needed to be removed. Once installed, it is nice and convenient to open and close, and will remain stationary, compared to my trifold that it replaces... so that is good. But overall, it seems a bit more flimsy. Some day I'll find the holy grail. This isn't it, but it is mostly an improvement.

Worth it.

Fits as described. Easy install as long as you follow the instructions. Makes great seal, no water ingress as of yet.

Good cover but......
Style: Retractable
Size: 6' 4" Bed
I got this cover and got in just a few days. I am mechanical inclined which helped with this install. It appears that the tapped holes for the 4 screws that are needed per the instructions were not drilled or tapped very good. I ended up stripping 2 of the bolts and breaking one of the very small ones' that went into the cap ends. I had to drill it out and retap the holes with new screws. More of a pain really, but if your spending 1k for a retractable cover these items should be inspected and deemed good to go from the factory. Once I got passed that, and got everything lined up, cover operated just fine. I was struggling a bit in the instructions as I was trying to see if the cover should go on top of the tailgate, or just seal up against the tailgate. I left mine to just seal up against the tailgate, and will reach out to Gator for the answer on that one. Will update again after I put some time on this cover. ***Update*** Called Gator Support and the answered my questions with no problems. One other suggestion I thought of was to go to the Gator website and ensure you get the right number for your application. Amazon has an error on the call out for a new body style Vs. classic one. This question only applies for 1500 Ram's not the 2500 series or 3500. Yes, plugged in the data amazon asked and it sent me the wrong cover. Had to confirm what part number I really needed with Gator and then ordered the correct one on amazon. Hope all this info helps...

Do not buy!
Style: Retractable
Size: 6' 4" Bed
I bought this bed cover a little over two years ago for $800. The rubber seal that sits against the tailgate is now deteriorating and leaving melted rubber everywhere. I contacted real truck and they said I have to buy a whole new panel for $135 because the seal is built in. I will not buy any more products from real truck or gator.
