  • Seems to be just fine
Let's face it - if you are purchasing mics that are several hundred dollars, this stand is probably not for you. However, for something like I wanted - an easy, home-use stand that can hold one my little $99 set of mics while I record my acoustic bass, it does the trick. The price feels appropriate. The weight is a nice balance of being light but feeling solid enough to hold the mics reliably. It's fairly adjustable and folds up to <2'. The only down side I noticed was the friction knob for locking the arm in place is generating some kind of white dust when tightened, along with some noises that concern me. As a result, I don't expect this to hold up to extended or heavy use. Try not to over-tighten the knob.... ... show more

  • Portable!!!
Years ago I was a performer and used a mic stand while performing. While I still have my equipment as well as the mic and cords, somehow I lost track of my stand. I no longer perform and really have absolutely no need for one of these, but I still wanted one just the same and since it was such a great deal, an order was placed. It arrived earlier than expected. It was well packed and upon opening I was surprised at the quality. It was folded and I was of the mind that I was going to need to assemble it. But it was ingeniously designed to fold up quite small. (Wish it had included a bag for storage though.) It is fully adjustable for just about any height person. The mic holder holds my vintage Sure mic and is a perfect fit. Included was the stand all folded up and the mic holder. I did have to install the holder but that was all. It has a number of snap on cable routers to aid in controlling that mic cable. You pull them off of the rod, slip in the cable and snap it back into place. It is a very positive "snap" and you know that it is not going to fail on you. The feet fold against the main rod/shaft and slide up and down for positioning. The arm with the mic is also adjustable and I can see someone sitting at a desk and still position this so as to leave the mic exactly where it is needed. Again, I have no real use for this but wanted one just in case and now I do... But it is really a great stand and a great value. ... show more

  • Very sturdy mic stand
This mic stand is very sturdy, especially for its affordable price. Since it has a single section, it has limited ability to be shortened in length. It also does not come with a bag. That said I think the pros outweigh the cons, and simply having a solid strong mic stand for this price alone makes it worth it. ... show more

  • Light and sturdy
Well made with good fit and finish. Folds compact for storage and transport. Stabile enough for my use case. When the arm is boomed out I never experienced any slipping or sagging. I work in location sound. I use this for on site voice over work with a cardioid mic and it’s been a great, inexpensive solution. ... show more

  • Weight is a drawback
I like this stand, but I think it's too lightweight. It's not the most stable and my cat kept knocking it over. I do like that is has feet, because I can put a rug or something heavy over them to hold it down.

  • Sturdy, good quality mic stand. Minimal feet adjustment.
This is a good quality microphone stand with a boom arm. It has a nice weight to it due to the quality materials but not overly heavy. Each joint at each point of adjustment seem firm and strong. Unlike some other cheap stands, I do not have to worry about a joint letting the mic slip out of place during a practice. One minor negative - the three tripod feet at the base really only extend to one position, fully extended. While this makes the stand very stable, it means in tight situations, it might be difficult to sneak this stand between other gear being used. Plus, no travel bag, although this is very minor. Overall, this is a good microphone stand. ... show more

  • Heavy duty but also a little heavy in weight - holds at selected height and works well
I got this to hold my wireless mics which tend to be thicker in width than wired microphones. Even though I was worried about this being able to hold it after looking at it, there is enough play and flex in the holder to grab and hold my wireless microphone as well. As far as the boom it works fine and adjust easily just like the rest of the stand. There are hand clamps to hold the microphone stand at the level you want and the legs are plenty sturdy to keep it balanced when pushed all the way down. This is a slightly heavy stand and surprised me with the weight so I am not sure that I would want this one 'for the road', but the metal quality is good. Overall, I am happy with this stand and think it is set at a reasonable price for the quality that you get. I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Very nice mic stand for the money.
This stand rates a 4 or 5, depending on your approach. It's fairly light weight, so I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty touring and constant setting up and taking down, but for keeping as part of your home practice setup it should perform well. The adjustments work fine, and the size is practical. So for standing and singing/speaking, or adding a mic around your drum set, this will work. The added wire clips are a helpful touch. I hope this helps. Thanks for reading and liking. ... show more
