  • Read Before Purchasing! It works GREAT!
Size: Double Slim
I’ve notice that there are a few reviews which state that this item does not work. This item works exactly as described. But I don’t think people who say it does not work actually read all of the information about this item. First and foremost, you can only use cookware where a magnet will stick to the bottom of it. So, for the most part, that means stainless steel cookware and an iron skillet. You can NOT use: • Aluminum – No! • Glass – No! • Ceramic, such as Corningware – No! • Plastic – No! When you turn the cooktop on, the cooktop itself does not get hot. If you have seen or used other glass cooktops, where you see the red rings underneath getting hot, that is not the same as this item. When you turn this on, and place a stainless steel pan on top of it, it is the bottom of the stainless steel pan which gets hot and not the cooktop itself. Now granted, after you have been cooking for a while and the pot is really hot, it will transfer heat back to the cooktop. So you don’t want to touch the cooktop because it will be hot from the transfer of heat. I have used a few of these, so I am very familiar with them. This one works fine, but there are a couple of caveats you need to be aware of. The only way to turn this on is to plug it in. So once you are finished using it, you will need to unplug it. But wait until the fans stop before you unplug it. There are cooling fans underneath. Though you can use both of the burners at the same time, you cannot have both of them on high (10) at the same time. This is an 1800 W cooktop. So you can have one on high, and one on low… Both on medium… And things like that. You also need to make sure you read the instruction manual before you plug it in. Because, once you plug it in, lights will start flashing, but that does not mean that it is turned on. You have to then press the on/off button then press the temp button then press the plus button then you can also press the timer if you like. But this is all in the instruction manual. But as I said previously, the cooktop itself will not get hot. You must place a stainless steel pan on top of it first. You should do this before you start pressing any buttons, because if you start pressing buttons and then wait too long to place a pot or skillet on top, it will reset. Then you have to start over. Again I really like this type of cooktop. They work really great. It’s nice to have something like this for extra burners when you need them, or to cook outside, or just to keep things warm. But it does take a little time of getting used to them. So if you are new to this type of cooking, have a little bit of patience. Once you see how it works, you’ll probably really like it. ... show more

  • Set to "WATER" it runs at just under 1400W. Working well.
Nice. - Fan noise and the induction 'clicking'/'whiring' add up to bit of moderate noise. Not whisper quiet. Was noisiest at first, after running a while the switching magnetics noise is mostly gone. Odd. - The 'water' setting, and only the 'water' setting uses 1397W when set to 1300W. All others when set to 1300W are ~1315W. - When off + auto fan ON to cool down <3W. OFF and no fan = <2 Watts (it jumps around so average may be 1-1.5W). - It can continuously manage lower wattage settings 1300W to 700W (100% ON). 600W and lower settings pulse between 3W and 720W like microwave ovens do. - Induction (magnetic) area as marked is ~5.5" diameter. This does mean that your induction cookware should have as small a 'decal' embossed indentation area as possible on their bottoms (the company name + info/decals area depression which raises up the center of the pot away from the induction surface). The magnetic field already has to cross through the glass so a bit of center embossing won't hurt too much and may help to prevent center burning (not a bug, a feature?!?). - My new Homichef 1.75qt pot 6.5" dia (Nickel free w/metal lid) worked fine. The pot does have a 2-3/8" depressed decal area which showed up as a bit fewer bubbles in the water, but not too bad I think. 1" dia area in the middle was not very active (low induction area) in the water heating (fewer bubbles). The 1" 'gap' in the middle should mean it won't burn much in the middle, which is good (a very hot spot otherwise). - main heating area seems to be 3.5" diameter. I'm using the Homichef pot with a thick bottom which keeps the center of the pot heated well (bubbles) even though is has a 2 3/8" decal/embossed area. - induction area is biased toward the top, it is not centered within the painted rings but 3/4" toward the top (away from the button area). - Turns off induction quickly, <1 second, when a pot is lifted off the induction surface. - 1 minute after a pot is lifted off the power is shut off. This will leave the fan on to cool off the electronics. Fan shuts off a few minutes later. - Handled my old Sears New Dimensions 8qt 9.5" diameter pot loaded with water just fine. - In the 1 3/4 qt Homichef pot, 6 minutes to boil 1qt tap/cold water. 6.5 minutes to maximum rolling boil. Boiling maintained down to 700W (light rolling with very few bubbles). 600W and lower the power is cutting ON and OFF and when ON has a non-rolling boil (simmer) with large bubbles. - I didn't want a 1800W induction plate, this 1300W (1400W max) will work better with battery inverters. My Humless LiPo battery box has a 1500W inverter, so 1800W is too much (it would likely, on lower Wattage settings, cut ON and OFF between 2W and 1800W). - Picture at 5.5 minutes of 1300W, 1qt of cold water. Also shows the offset needed that centers the boiling in the pan. - end of batch run. He-he, for you old timey computer folks. ... show more

  • Skip this product and seller. Who sells some thing like this
I breaded my chicken strips, set the temperature at 320°, after 45 seconds I got this burned inedible meal. Glad I’m prepared more so I can throw these away. Please save your money this is a definitely a waste of your attempt to learn a new way to cook. I’m sad because I was looking forward to this and this absolutely ruined it. I lowered it to 250° just to kind of contractor over abundance of heat, it’s still at 465° right now that’s where it’s going to stay it’s funny this is a piece of crap. ... show more

  • This product is awesome
It works great. I was skeptical to buy it cause it had little number of reviews. But turned out product is awesome. We took it to our vacation, we used it in the motel. The few best parts: lightweight, easy to clean, great design, big circle so that we can fit big sauce pans, fast water boiling.

  • Is really 1200W
The unit works well but it is 1200W only. I honestly prefer it to be 1200W because we use it at our off grid cabin with an inverter. It is plenty powerful to fry or cook. Beans or rice even simmer on the lowest 200W setting just fine as long as you bring it to a boil at 800W-1200W first and than turn it down. When you use 200W setting it turns on at 400W for a few seconds and than off a few seconds. The timer is nice too, simply set it and after the desired time the unit shuts off. It is noisy, the fan inside is a little annoying. The manufacturer used the existing 1200W hardware and just reprogrammed the display. I reduced the rating because of false advertising even so it is a nice unit. ... show more

I freaking love this ceramic cooktop! As I’m currently living in a place with no stove and this baby right here delivers better than an actual stove in my opinion! I love it!!!!!
