Overall, it was pretty easy to assemble and works great. We had no problems that common sense wouldn't have prevented. Such as - you should insert all the boards for one side BEFORE you tighten down that side. We had a REALLY hard time getting the ladder steps screwed in, but I swear we were following instructions. A couple of the bolts are still sticking out significantly, but no one has fallen yet. Smallish 10-yr-old girl uses this and it's GREAT. We got a couple stand-alone shelves to put under for book and shoe storage. It seems really sturdy. INSTALLATION TIP: We used the mattress slats as spacers for the mattress slats. As in, set three slats together, right up against each other, and screw in the two outside ones, then remove the inside one and use it as a "spacer" for the next. They are all uniformly spaced and it filled the frame perfectly. Hope that made sense. INSTALLATION TIP 2: The little woodscrews that they give you are crap. We tried using them to attach the side slats to the top guardrail. The screw BROKE. I shifted things over a half inch and tried another. The screw BROKE. I grabbed a walmart set of woodscrews and used the smallest size, and it held fine. We did use the little provided screws for the mattress slats, and through the lighter wood, it worked fine. My daughter is obsessed and so happy with this bed and so am I! The instructions were clear, took a little longer to assemble since I did it alone but otherwise had no issues. Even arrived sooner than expected!

We ordered 2 of these beds and do really like them. It’s a great design and allows you to have bunk beds that aren’t super high off the ground. The delivery guy should have had someone helping him, because unfortunately he damaged our boxes and tore up a piece that is a supporting piece. We made it work though. ... show more

You can't even buy wood to build a bed thus cheap. It's pretty sturdy but you wanna be careful putting in the screws especially with a drill. I also glued everything I could. I'd buy another!
