Says 10000 btu, description says 14000btu, thought the 10000btu was the doe rating, turns out the 14000btu was just made up or something and the actual doe rating is 6000btu. The water tank didn't even make it 6 hours before needing to be drained and performed worse than the 2 year old 5000btu window ac I was try to replace due to degraded performance. ... show more

This is my first portable AC.. Couple things that I did not know.. I didn't know about having to buy the insulated wrap for the ventilation tube to the window, without that wrap the tubing gets very warm, which sends it back into the room and makes the system work harder to cool.along with a 5 gal pail for the humidity(water) the system removes from the air via a small hose.AC works wonderful!! Does a wonderful job in cooling my Apt. Comes with a remote, that works perfectly, performance is definitely 5 stars. Would certainly buy this AC if needed. Installation was easy. ... show more

For how cheap this item was compared to others of the same BTU rating it’s great, my only complaint is , it’s definitely not quiet. There’s no difference between low and sleep mode and thankfully I can fall asleep through a bit of noise but if that’s not you , this may be too loud for you.

I'm very impressed with this 10,000 btu unit. The install is a breeze and takes about 5 minutes in a traditional window. The fan speed when on low is quiet enough where I don't need to raise the TV volume from about 10 ft from the unit. Even on high, the noise level isn't so obvious where it would overpower the room. We have this running as more of a supplemental AC to our central AC for the third floor since we only have one dedicated thermostat serving all 3 floors. This keeps the main room which is about 20x20 with high ceilings as cool as the bottom floor on the hottest days. The air is almost instantly freezing cold and can be felt all the way across the room. I high recommend this unit especially at this price point. ... show more
