I purchased this because I'm starting the Curly Girl Method to repair my hair after coloring and this gel doesn't have any silicones in it. I have long 3B curls that recently got super frizzy after coloring. After washing and deep conditioning my hair with Shea Moisture products, and spraying in a Shea Moisture leave in conditioner, I ran a wide tooth comb through my still pretty soaked hair and then used quarter sized amounts of gel about three separate times, spread across my hands, and used the "praying hands" method of applying the gel to sections of my hair before scrunching. I then sat in front of a fan to let my hair dry for a little bit before setting it up behind me while I slept to allow it to keep air drying. I woke up with super defined, frizz free, juicy looking curls that looked like they "should" have been crunchy, but weren't!. I haven't been able to achieve that in a long, long time. I've used other Garnier styling gels before, even ones targeted specifically to curly hair, and I hated them. They gave me no hold, no frizz control, and no definition whatsoever. THIS, on the other hand, has done an amazing job with NO FLAKES! I even think I might have used too much gel. I will be buying this again and again - PLEASE don't discontinue this!!!!!

My children and I both use this stuff! My 10 year old son uses it to keep his hair nice and neat, I use it when I style my hair wavy, and I use it to keep down flyaways in my 11 month old daughters hair when I put it up in ponytails. It’s lightweight, barely any scent, and still has good hold without looking crunchy. If you want a super strong hold this isn’t for you, but if you want a natural good hold, this is it!

Would give it 5 stars if the scent wasn’t so strong. I am sensitive to certain smells, so if you’re sensitive as well, I recommend looking for one with no scent. It may or may not have been affected by the heat in the delivery truck, because it was really warm when it was delivered. Otherwise it works great. It’s a good hold and doesn’t flake.

I have very curly hair and I use this gel for a slicked back ponytail look for work. It works pretty well. It wears off by hour 6. A bit sticky on skin, but that’s expected. Overall, it gets the job done

If you want a gel that holds well, but doesn't make your hair Edward Scissors Hands stiff, then this is the holding gel for you. It doesn't weigh down your hair, but holds well. It has a mild scent to it. That might be important to some. Over all, a very good product.
